Default WTF!!!!! Someone Stole My Identity!!! Help Please!

I checked my email today and I see this paypal receipt and I'm like "WTF for?"

Apparently some guy bought a Sony DCR-DVD108 DVD camcorder from Amazon with my paypal account!!! WTF! $390.00.
The thing is the email gave me his name and shipping info so I'm thinking this could be the dumbest identity thief I've ever seen.

I submitted a dispute to the credit card company and I don't know if I should send one to Paypal as well because when I click the dispute button I have to fill out a bunch of sensitive info that I'm not comfortable submitting.

What should I do???? Should I risk disputing with paypal? Should I go to Amazon and try to dispute something there too??? Please help!!!!!

Please tell me you didn't click on the link in the email to go to your Pay-Pal account.

a person sends out a fake email.. making it look like it's from paypal...

then they change all the links and make it look like the paypal site. that will log your password when you type it in. get onto your paypal.. and change the password. call paypal and let them know you got a email... check the paypal log to see what charges are on there... call paypal and let them know ahead that there is some suspicious stuff going on... and they'll keep an eye on it... let them know you want to change the password and everything. and that if there are other charges.... they aren't you.

Oh boy...I don't want to worry you even more, but that's one of the oldest scams around. If you click on a link to Pay-Pal, you might have been sent to a dummy site that is set up to look exactly like Pay-Pal. Once you're there, you key in your User Name and Password and now the scammers have it. I'm not saying that's what just happened to you, but it could be. NEVER respond to an email from Pay-Pal by clicking a link to your "account". If you're ever in doubt, close your email and log into your Pay-Pal account by going to the site on your own. I hope this works out for you.

Damn I got lucky, I talked to the guy, I changed my password, and he said I was the only one who has logged on and seen the account.

Apperently (and I didnt know this) if you get an email from paypal and it doesn't say dear, "your name" it is a spam email.

I'm glad i didnt enter any account info on the screen.

I hope you did too. Hey, I wouldn't beat yourself up for falling for it. They do make them look VERY real. It fools tons of people every day. I just remember reading about the scam along time ago, so I know never to do it.
