Never said it was a bad thing. My theory is, most of the people who bought them had no intention of using them thanks to EBay. They thought "oh I'll just buy a couple and sell them on EBay for 400% profit", problem is everyone is doing that, saturating the market. I don't know about some of you but I make more $ at work in 5 hours than spending 5-6 hours in freezing rain for $200 profit.

As more and more people toss them on ebay, the profit margin shrinks. It's basic economics, once supply exceeds demand, the prices will fall.

From what I'm hearing the demand is way larger than supply, in the total market that is. So even if many people are on e-bay selling them, there should still be a great enough demand that the prices won't come down that much, atleast not yet.

LOL... a lot of the games aren't getting great ratings I think the best I saw out of any was 9/10 for COD2. Everything is below, nothing seems to be truly standing out.

True but if the prices are too high, then no matter the demand, no one will buy it. In a perfect world, demand at a price will equal supply at a price creating an equilibrium point. For instance, demand at the retail price of $400 is much higher than demand at $1200.

That in one way is the beauty of EBay, demand has a very big effect on price.

Wonder how many of these Ebay'ers are claiming the profit on their taxes

It's incredible how ticket scalping is illegal but scalping XBox 360's isn't.

Reason I didn't buy a 360: Look at the best games for xBox... Halo, Fable, Doom, etc etc... They all come out for PC too ;)

Here are my 2 cents about the 360:

A great system that is vastly superior to the current consoles out on the market. Unfortunately, the developement time on these units wasn't that long. About 8 months with real hardware in place. If you look back at the release of games on PS2 from launch to current, the software has gotten so much better. Companies will always have all this hype around new systems, but it takes time for developers to create great content. A lot of the games had to be dumbed-down to make it past QA testing on the Microsoft side. Next year and the years after will really show the muscle of this unit.

That being said, I still want one. Yet, I'm wasn't going to wait in line for one. If I'm able to secure one through my company then I'll purchase. I mainly want it for HD. Once you start playing games in HD, it is so hard to go back and look at the current consoles. Just leaps & bounds ahead graphically. Also, the 360's are a little on the loud side. And the power brick is huge. Think of this sleek case as a pc. The power supply needs to go somewhere & the fans to cool it need to pump air.

If you got a bad one, the odds were simply against you. Just need to trade it in. These machines do run hot. Give them room to breath. You don't want to hear them at full blast.

i agree on the price hike for the 360 it isnt right, its the same as ticket scalping, and i also agree that you wont get the real power of this sysyem until next year...but i am really excited about the new nintendo, the controller seems really cool, its crazy that xbox and sony systems cost so much and they make no money whats so ever... i read an article the other day sayn it will take sony and xbox 3-4 years to see any profits on these system... that just seems insane to me, especially when there like 400-600 dollars ive heard the new nintendo is gonna be arounf 199.00 that is way more affordable, and the system is really sleek lookn. i dunno i think nintendo for me might be the way to go

just wondering why, after all some of the greatest games are on PC. Shooters, RPG's, Strategy, most console games can only come close. At least IMO.

PC games are the best. They are usually way more complicated than console games . The only reason I buy PS is because of KOEI games Romance of the Three Kingdoms rules!!!

True. you won't see any system see its full potential until about a year after their release (*cough*Gamecube*cough*)

i never got into the xBox. and don't see myself getting there anytime soon.

I hate gamecube and in my opinion the controller on the new nintendo system will suck. Imagine pointing your tv remote at your tv for 1 hour while moving it around and pressing multiple buttons. Not fun. If the revolution is anything like the gamecube, it'll suck...IMO. In a year, once the 360 will have games that really show it's power and you will be able to get a 360 with no waiting for $400 or less, then it will be worth it. The 360 will will be a great system after they fix the launch system's bugs and make it easy to go to a store and just pick one up without a line.

Just waiting to clear the space on my Best Buy card and then trying to get one while I can have 0% interest for two years on it. Luckily, I have an insider at my local Best Buy who says he can get on on hold for me.

I def agree with you. No sense in getting a 360 now, especially when it means waitiing in line for hours (and here in the northeast, it was also pouring all night) and not have any real good games to play on it. I love Halo, so Im gonna wait until MS announces a release date for Halo 3 and then Ill go get one. By then, i could probably just walk into a store and buy one. And even when MS releases Halo 3, with the way Bungie makes their games H1> H2> H3, and Halo 2 sucks already. Halo lasted over 3 years; Halo 2 blows and it just hit its 1 year anniversary... maybe I'll recant my previous statement about waiting for Halo 3. When is PS3 being relesed?
