Gamecube wasnt my favorite system either... but i do love mario kart, smash, zelda, so revoultion will be a hit... and its not just a remote they have a controller cradle that is more traditional for those who like a more tradional controller, but the new ontroller will have motion sensors and is movement sentive so say ,im Link and i swing the controller link will swing his sword, thats pretty neat to me, its better than what xbox is offering, a over priced half way next gen system... now if you were making an arugment for ps3 you have a point but not with xbox they have one game, halo and that bout it! only game i own for xbox is halo2 lol but thats just me, i cant think of another game on xbox at the moment thats good. but whats really crazy is that microsoft lost 4 billion dollars on xbox, nintendo made 1 billion profit and sold less systems

there was an article (no-biased mind you) that said if xBox had not released with HALO, it would have gone the way of the 1st gen nokia n-gage.

and if nintendo didnt have the classics.........

and if nintendo had not cancelled the agreement they had with sony.........

and if sony didnt have final fantasy 7.........

(okay i made the last one up)

i aslo think that if people hadnt figured out how to mod the xbox as well as they did, it wouldnt have been a hit either. that was one of the biggest selling points for me. who the hell wants to pay $50 a game. (i do not promote piracy in any way and have never played a copied game in my life!!!!!)

if you really like games, you cant compete with a real computer, i bought a dell XPS600 and upgraded it even more, the graphics make any console look like a atari

What do you meen by that? Sure, if your looking at just the games that are out NOW its not that big of an improvment besidesthe graphics, but like i said, wait 1 year and you will see the true power of the 360's hardware. It IS a new generation system, just not with the games on it currently. And about xbox having only one good game....I TOTALLY disagree with that. Halo is to xbox as Mario is to nintendo. There are many great games on xbox like Fable, Forza, and Doom 3 just to namea few. Plus, theres probably a lot of games on xbox that you haven't played that are very good. Nintendo is a much more cartoony system, graphics wise and just overall gamewise which really isn't my thing. That's probably why mostly kids under like age 12 buy them (Gamecubes). The only good nintendo game i can think of is Zelda...that's just off the top of my head. There aren't very many games made for nintendo either. in comparison to other systems it's probably like 1 to 5 games (nintendo to xbox or ps2).

lol the only reason i even bought a gamecube is for zelda and i will continue to support nintendo as long as they keep releasing zelda games. but i have an xbox too and one of my favorite games of all time are on xbox...jade empire. that game was awesome!

i guess each system appeals to different gamers. i think playstation is better for role playing games but xbox has the online gaming market cornered. and nintendo, like stated earlier, is geared more towards kids. this is why i will continue to get all 3 systems so that i can have the best of all worlds.

i love what each system brings to the table and they each have their own little advantage.

I agree completely with that^
If I could afford all 3, I would buy all of em, but since me, and the majority of people can't do that we choose which one we like best. When you pay $50 for an xbox game, it usually has Live. That meens that your $50 are going much further than a ps2 or gamecube game because you can play the xbox game for a much longer time and not get bored of it becuase it will change everytime when you play online. Thats also a big selling point to many people. Although ps2 has online games, theres not as many and not as many people play ps2 online. Plus ps2 online is laggy, it supports 56k'ers.

PS3 is gonna blow 360 outta the water, guaranteed. I bet Nintendo Rev will do the same. Look at who's behind it...Bill Gates. It's all about money and how he can make more. Sure, PS3 will probably be as expensive but you have a huge corporation who doesn't put out crappy products. Did you really expect a whole lot from MS??

I am sitting here kicking myself in the ___ for not reserving two or three xboxes... Hell.. they're selling CORES on ebay from 700-1200 bucks... that double-quadrupling your money... Jesus christ that would have been sweet...

Takes me back to when I eBayed my moms Furby.

"Buttt mommmmmmmmmmm.. your furby costs 20 bucks... we can sell it for 200 on ebay!"

I just love how a lot of people are screaming it's too expensive for what you get. Is anyone forgeting the launches of the PS2 and original Xbox? The PS2 launched at $299 same as the core 360, 5 years ago!

Here's what you got in the box ($300 in 2000):
1) PS2 System
1) Wired Controller
1) RCA hookup cables
1) Power cord

Here's the core 360 ($300 in 2005):
1) Xbox 360 System
1) Wired Controller
1) RCA Hookup cables
1) Power Block
1) Xbox Live Silver Membership

Now for the same price 5 years later, you get more. Oh but you might say "the PS2 played PS games out of the box", then I'll say "big deal". How many of us bought the PS2 with the intent of playing PS games? I know I didn't, I already had a PS. Here's something the PS2 didn't have, networking out-of-the-box, this is something that the PS3 will also most likely still be lacking.

The original Xbox listed at $350 at launch and came with FAR less than the $400 360 Premium Pack.

The Xbox at launch ($350 in 2001):
1) Xbox system
1) Wired controller
1) 8GB HDD
1) RCA Hookup cables
1) Power cord

Xbox Premium at launch ($400 in 2005):
1) Xbox 360 System
1) Wireless Controller
1) HD Component Hookup Cables
1) Xbox Live headset
1) DVD Remote (launch units only)
1) 20GB HDD
1) Network cable
1) Xbox Live Silver Membership
1) Xbox Live Gold 30-day Trial
1) Power block

Now the original core of the Xbox was your standard 733MHz PIII, the 360's core is a mind-numbing, triple-core PowerPC chip with each core running at 3.2GHz!!! Multiple times more advanced than the original. Also, the original Xbox couldn't play DVD's until you bought add-on software, the 360 does this standard.

Doesn't look like the 360 is a bad deal afterall. Remember, the launch games for the PS2 were crap, the only memorable one being Tekken Tag. The first batch of PS2's barely lasted a year, I no mine didn't, because of the dreaded disc read errors.

I personally don't have an original Xbox and will gladly get the Premium 360 and be grateful, it's a great deal. For those that think the PS3 will be in the same price bracket as the 360, you'll be very mistaken. I easily see the PS3 listing for between $500-$600 based on the specs of it.

ps3 will definately be network ready out of the box, the slim ps2 has a built-in ethernet port already...

Just let the hype die down and pick up the 360 mid to late January...

Maybe network-ready but Sony (as it stands) won't have anything along the lines of Xbox Live.

Yep. If I wanted an Xbox 360 (which I don't), I'd just wait til January or February when you'll be able to walk into Wal-Mart and pick one up.
Stand in the cold rain for 10 hours for a video game? I don't think so.

Couldn't agree w/ you more...supply & demand. Quite simple. If these idiots want to pay twice as much for the system, that's their deal.

Lastly, I'm waiting a while for M$ to get all the bugs out of the system. There are so many instances already of the system overheating and crashing in games.

The PS3 is going to launch in the spring in Japan and shortly there after in the States most likely...there is no way they are going to wait 4 or 5 months before releasing it here after the Japan release. It's def. going to be sooner then later too...Sony Execs released pricing to reflect current xBox prices.

Oh yeah...and Nintendo. It must be the loyalty in me...but I think Nintendo puts out a superior product that gets dissed because it doesn't always get the same games as PS2 and XBox. They still have a ton of 1st party games that will kick any 1st party games from Sony & M$...

that's why some people were having overheating problems, cause they put the 360 in confined spaces...the manual clearly states to make sure the power supply and the 360 be clear of any constrictions...let it breathe...

if you look at the number of threads popping up in the 360 forums about defects and such, it looks like there's a lot...but it's the same people posting at the same threads...making it look like there a lot of defective boxes..

those threads aren't keeping me from getting a Xbox 360...i wonder if i'll get one for Christmas

JC

p.s. i'm not in the PS3/Xbox rivalry thing...i like what both has to offer :D
