As some of you know me as Idaho I enjoy life and have always pushed the limits in life! Drinking WAY TOO MUCH Patron at a SL party, Doing the first Turbo on an xB, Talking more $hit then I should, and overall not afraid to do anything. Well I think my days have changed. Not only did I do all this but I also was in a horrible motorcycle accident more than a month ago and I am still in rehab. The reason I am posting this is because I think ALOT of people can learn from it and alot of others will have answers to "What the hell happened to you!"

I have rode for over 2 years on a street bike and have had my fair amount of close encounters but just 4 weeks ago March 8th I should have died. I was riding down the street from my house to my buddies (2 1/2 blocks) decided wearing my full leathers and helmet was not needed due to the short trip, I got 1 block and a cop pulls my buddy over for doing a wheelie ( idiot did it right infront of the cop) I keep going because I was not speeding or driving wreckless and just around the corner I see lights flashing behind me. I look behind to see another cop pulling me over. Confused I look back at her mostly questioning why and for that 2 seconds I veered off the road just enough to hit a small 3" high divider. I hit it going 50mph and flew 154 yards ( Yes that is a huge distance but once I receive the police report I will scan it and post it on here.) I missed a semi, 2 cars, a highway sign, and a barbed wire fence. I ended up fracturing my sternum, tore both rotator cuffs, and got road rash from head to toe. I now more then a month later still have open wounds and some bad scars to show for it. I have realized that its not a matter if you will die riding a motorcycle its just a matter of when. I belive this 100% and ask you to highly rethink your puchase for yourself and familys sake. Trust me they are a blast and I have NEVER had more fun in my life but I will not step on a motorcycle again.

To answer some of your questions the cop was pulling me over because they believed I was racing the other guy, and then when I didnt pull over they thought I was evading police. But due to the accident they did not arrest me for evading police they gave me neglegent Driving and Racing. I have no idea what to do. This story is the 100% utter truth and I am in no way exagerating the story. I am open to all legal help!

154 Yards? BS.... I will show you the report once I receive a copy but for now I will show you a map.

This is the Median I hit. In the far background you can see a sign that says TK Bar, Green with a white reader board below it. I landed on the pavement about 25 yards behind that on the street and bounced over to that sign. The point where I bounced is 154 yards and the point where I landed is over 180. Here is a google map! I put an arrow on the median on the left Where I hit and the 1st circle is where I bounced and the 2nd circle is where I landed.

WOW!!! Iv'e been trying to get my gf to consent to me purchasing a bike for a few months now. Better keep her away from this thread. Hope all goes well with the police.

yeah, bikes will definitely get you hurt. I've been riding for several years now, and have had my fair share of incidents. I've been underneith 2 semi trucks that pulled out in front of me, fallen out of wheelies @ 50mph, etc etc etc. I havent been hurt as much as you, but alas, my bike has been sold...

It might not look like it but in all honesty his bike is better off then mine! I cracked the Block, cracked and bent both rims, exploded both tires, bent and cracked the frame, compressed and snapped the forks, tank and plastics are thrashed cracked punctured and ruined. rotors are cracked and I mean NOTHING is salvagable!

Oh yea, he was doing 120mph when the lady turned out in front of him (i'm not saying it's her fault, she saw him but when she did he was way down the road and she assumed he was doing the speed limit towards her which was 45 i believe)

 

I was only able to get these because they guy came out and said NO MORE PICTURES I guess he didnt want me to find out it was not worth ANYTHING and that he was charging me more for towing it then it could be sold for. I did not get a clean picture of the block or the frame that was cracked but this was like 2 minutes of pictures before he barged out.

 

i got opt. in legal service through my work, deducts like dental, etc... i have no clue about free legal aid... maybe through the city.. might have some program... check your state site.

 

Yea it's pretty trashed. front rotors don't look damaged, and the headlights ... other than that nothing. you have it insured?

 

Had just bought it so no insurance. I basically spent 5 grand to wreck a motorcycle and pay over 20 grand in medical bills! SPENDY FUN!
