btw I like the colors in his pics a lot. though he should take out the yellow in the red pics, it gives the red car a slight orange hue.

IM a new DSLR photographer, so I am learning, if you want to call what you say constructive critism, stop harping on blur wtf is it with you and blur do you have a blur fetish?

Ill be the first to say, that the pics are not PERFECT maybe it's my apertue, or shutter speed, or wrong choice of white balance.

practice makes perfect, you expect way too much from a novice photoagrapher.

 

also, the cars are orange. not red.

shutter speed 150

it will be underexposed, increase exposure, drop fill light, fix white balance and increase clarity in raw tool. than tweak it in curves and run slight smart sharpen for post.

and see if that helps with sharpness, really tough call to tell you exactly what numbers to use without knowing how your camera reacts to the settings. What I find helpful is use your camera a lot in really bad lighting conditions and you'll find the limitations of your camera very quickly and learn to work around the shortcomings.

As I stated a 18-55mm will be different on your camera than mine, I have a begginer DSLR, and YES I dont have all the equipment I would like, bu tI am trying.

 

I just posted some settings you might wanna try out. try it and see if it helps improve the sharpness of the photos next time you shoot in that kind of lighting.

 

I have iso 100,200,400,800 and 1600

 

btw I did read yanki's prior post about the xs, but I didnt make the connection because I thought he was referring to himself why he preferred the xsi. I didnt know it was directed at you.

 

you can try 800 with a lower shutter speed and smaller aperture?
if just stick to 400 and drop the fstop and increase shutter speed than post process.

not that it was directed at me, I was just posting what I did with mine, and too maybe show it's not as bad as it looks.


and sure my pics can become better with my Xs but I need to do a lot of practice with it.

 

not that I dont value what you say, you have a different way of saying things, and by no means am i looking for the greatest of praises, but it's nice to hear that you are doing ok or hey practice more. and dont sound so condecending, and that goes for everyone.

this is a picture thread of pictures done with DSLR cameras, subjects will vary, cameras will vary, skill level will vary. and when everyone realizes that then maybe it wont be so caty in here.

me i never critique ppls pictures, a simple hey I like that or hey thats not my taste is what anyone and everyone gets from me, because I know there are these differences between how we use our cameras.

 

I dont really listen to the comp critiques people give with my photos because either I wanted it that way and its debatable depending on the viewer or I already know how the comp couldve been improved

what I did learn from the critiques I got in here was the hastiness of blown highlights. I see pros blow out highlights all the time. It wasnt until this thread that made me watch the exposure of my photos hah. So the critique did help me that way. Not because blowing highlights is bad, but because in hindsight I prefer no blown highlights in photos I do.

when I first got the dslr, I didnt know how to use it. I got a lot of people tell me I was crazy and I was just lucky with photos. I didnt listen to them and did my own thing.

I suggest with critiques you chew the fat and spit out the bones. Use helpful advice that applies to you, if you disagree, brush it off your shoulders.

 

me, I shoot what I see, if it comes out how I want it I keep, if it doesnt it's trashed. I do my own thing, and if it's not eyecatching to everyone else, I am sorry, because it was made by me for me.

 

this is a indian head nickel, also known as a buffalo nickel, because of the buffalo on the back side.

but this one was hammered from the rear to form a 3D indian head and created into a piece of jewlery.
