As I slowly experiment with different settings I find that with: White Balance------there is a difference! I think there was a question bout this a few pages ago.

only time anyone should use AUTO WB is if they are shooting in RAW. cause u can just completely edit it. But if ur not shooting in RAW u should set the camera to adjust for the type of lighting ur shooting with. AUTO WB usually makes images WAY too warm and orange.

I think pshooter should start shooting in raw. images will be a lot sharper and you have a lot more flexibility with post. Even if its just for fun. Your image quality will improve significantly.

what are you doing with a 40d and just using program ae mode and shooting in jpeg????!!?

at least av mode is a step in the right direction

 

there's nothing wrong shooting Av or Tv given certain circumstances like sports shooting or concerts

 

yeah nothing wrong with it at all. Lets u take shots faster without having to worry bout every little setting. I've known a lot of pros that use AV and TV.

 

does anyone here shoot in RAW? ive been shooting in RAW since i got my camera. i guess i just want to fully take control when PP comes. also, does everyone also shoot with AWB? i think ive asked this question already. i try to manually set my white balance or try the PRE mode. its pretty accurate most of the time.

 

i shoot in RAW+LJPG and i shoot with AWB just cause it makes it easier in PP.

that's what the focal length will look like cause of ur cropped sensor

 

i think i know what you are talking about. i would need to be shooting at 1/80th of a sec for a clear picture. is that right? or what do you mean?

 

it means the view would be like an 80mm instead of a 50mm.

 

ok so the better question is then is it a good lens to buy. i am looking for a stable lens with a low f-stop. and for the price, it isnt bad. it has great reviews. so yes or no?

 

YES for sure. Every photographer should have this lens.
