DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
I have always wanted to do these. What is the best technique for it? Also, I know it will differ per lighting and location. But what is your f/stop and shutter speed for these shots?
seen some pics of rigs and I want to put one together some day but i have a guestion. May seem like a dumb one but I was bouncing the concept around and didn't get my answer.
Is the rig PS'd out later or what?

every single specialty within photography has its secrets that they don't share....
i'm sure someone has said something about whatever secret you're looking for, but i'm not going to be the one that leaks the info...

yes the rigs are PSed out. Very tedious task but well worth the work.
And yes SERIOUSLY. Rigs are a very closely guarded secret in the automotive photography world. If ur lucky enough to know someone that will teach u how to make it, consider urself honored b/c they prolly respect u as a photographer.
Also if ur patient enough to learn how to make one urself with just researching then ur prolly a lot more serious bout photography than the average Joe that picks up an SLR for a month and thinks he wants to go pro.
So yes Don was SERIOUS.
Ask ANY automotive photographer the same question and u will get the SAME answer if they even answer u.

From the quick research that I have done, this is the most common way to do it.

You take two photos one with out the rig in the same position and then one with the rig. You then overlap the two photos in PS and it will eliminate the poles.
How close is that?
