anyone here use multiple remote flashes, for on location shoots?

do you prefer strobes or the flash guns?

Im thinking two speedlights should be enough for me for remote lighting during the day. I really dig the portability. Im concerned that full strobes may be too cumbersome to lug around.

I love flash hahaha, I shoot flash more for daytime shots then I do at night.

 

what are you shooting? strobes will give you much more power, but of course at the big cost of portability.

Currently, I only shoot with speedlights off camera and have never been in a situation where i wish i had strobes. it's all about having the right light modifiers.

 

I do a lot of portraiture stuff.
So people is what I photograph the most.

Im thinking of pairing the 430 ex with the 580ex ii for some cross lighting.

that last car pic you posted.. did you use real a spotlight? or is that a light render in post?

Your 430ex with 580ex should be more than sufficient for portraits... how are you triggering those flashes? Do you have any light modifiers like umbrellas?

Thanks for the compliments. I used two 580ex's in that photo at 1/4 power @ 24mm zoom, about 7ft high, camera left and right. That's almost out of camera actually.

Haha no, it's an effect called tilt shift that makes things look like a model. That's my first time trying it. I think it came out pretty neat.
