DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
ha ha yeah the 580 is a flash. it is the one that can be used a transmitter and receiver. the 430 can only be a slave and can't fire other strobes.
i got the 70-200mm f4 L USM with UV filter and tripod collar. Needed something longer since all of my lenses are short range, especially on the full frame.

yeah i have been wanting a longer lens for a while and it takes forever to save up for L quality ha ha. it was between the lens or a flash. so i found the lens for cheaper than normal with a uv filter, hood, lens bag, and tripod collar. Supposed to be coming in today so i'll take photos of it once it is here. Wish it was the IS version let alone the 2.8. Only lens i want now is the 16-35 and the 100-400 L lenses. then after that i won't need another lens. Also just a remote and a flash and i'll be done.
ha ha Did i really just say that?

of course. ha ha EVERYBODY wants the 2.8. But being that I am on full frame i'll get more DOF outta it anyways even tho it's f4. Plus i figured I would be shooting outside stuff with it mostly anyways, so i can settle for the f4 version. Im used to being limited to f4 with my 24-105 anyways.
its hard to MF on DSLRs its not like film where you have that center focus point thingy in the viewfinder. i use zoomed liveview mode to focus with this lens. its kinda tricky but it brings back the nostalgia
How old of a film camera are u using? my rebel and elan 7e both had the focusing squares. now my old AE-1 Program had the focus ring ur talking bout. Can't find that camera no where. Wish I could. ha ha
As do I and the 100mm with tubes wasn't cutting it. I needed more than 2.4x mag, so thats why I got an MP-E. Now my problem is that I don't have good enough lighting for it. I only have a 430ex, with no money to upgrade to a twin lite or anything, so we shall see.
have u tried putting the flash on a remote like the pocket wizard so u can kinda just lay it down near the subject instead of being on camera? Idk if that would help, but just a thought. Ring Light would be awesome tho.
I want a macro sooo bad. I think the MP-E is for EF-s tho, so it's a no go for me. I'd prolly get the 180mm macro if i ever got one. Course it is over a grand, so it will be a LONG time. Nice macro shots by the way.
I am stuck to doing stack lenses ha ha

No the MP-E is not EF-S, it's most definitely EF, and as far as the flash goes, half my subjects are on walls, so it'd be hard to lay the flash on the wall. I customized a flash bracket to I could mount the flash horizontally but I need to adjust it a bit more so I can slide the flash too.
