Umm i wouldn't suggest you buy a PW, its $400+ and that's just for one off cam flash. PWs are not for beginners! Your better off buying cheaper manual ones like Cyber Syncs or Ebay ones. And the TTL is cool but i dont use it much because im use to manual. oh yea the range sucks ___ on the new PWs. it only work good with the 430exII not the 430ex or my 580, too much RF interference.

there's always radio poppers, Ive seen comparisons and the radio poppers tend to spank pocket wizards but in range.

Ill most likely get one of those, but not now, I dont need them. I use an st e2 and its fine for me. I get the radio transmitters when I have a studio and strobe set up. Aside from that there is no reason for me to get them, I dont need to stand 50 feet away to take a portrait picture hahaha.

Just wanted to throw up some recent pics. I was lucky enough to have a deerfly in my garage the other night:

And a damselfly outside my front door:

I used a Canon XSi with the MP-E 65mm. As far as a flash goes I used a 430ex on a home-customized flash bracket with a paper towel around it as a diffuser.

As far as keeping them still, generally I either shoot em at night or in the morning. At night they tend to groom or are too tired to fly away. As far as in the morning, they're just not warmed up yet and are quite sluggish. Mid day, just forget it!

This is one of my first shots with this lens, and I can't remember if I posted it or not, but here goes. A lovely carpenter ant.
