monitor settings? as in.. computer monitor? i really dont know.. i dont like messing with my work equipment..

okay, so you post process raw? I was just wondering what color space you are using when you are processing files. You can find this by going into photoshop, edit, color settings and the title of the color space will be listed. However, if you are unfamiliar with this, than yes, it's better left untouched, otherwise you can really mess up the colors with everything.
Color space refers to how the computer translates the colors unto your screen when processing, which is important, if you are correcting the levels and colors in post. Your computer should come with some general color profiles to choose from also if you are not using a custom color profile for PS editing,
If you have a mac, those actually have pretty accurate manual calibration software built in, to create your own color profile, however, it's admittedly tedious to do over and over again every time the ambient light changes.
