We see the Northern Lights up here every once in a while.

 

A pano I took today. I shot it vertically, 6 shots wide.

Seeing that makes me wanna go to the local nature reserve.

 

Took a trip to the Dallas Arboretum yesterday. Too early for fall colors down here, but some decent nature shots to be had anyways. I think almost all of these were taken with my nifty fifty. Constructive criticism is encouraged

Yeah we hiked a few miles. But I took that pic before beginning the hike down to the waterfalls.

 

kinda wish the waterfall was more in focus... it is a lot more interesting than the rocks you focused on.

 

You mean closer? To get the moving water effect I had to shoot at f/20 to slow the shutter down. Shooting at that aperture makes everything is in focus--depth of field is infinite.

 

I don't think that's a lack of focus. I am guessing he used a long shutter speed to blur the water intentionally. I like it. Look at the rocks to the side of the water fall, just closed down the aperature to allow for a longer shutter speed and create a large DOF.

 

ya i understand that, but I dont know, the waterfall just looks so bleh to me when i feel like that is subject

 

I can see what you're saying. I might not have composed it with those rocks in front, who knows. Still like it though, haha

 

I have some shots zoomed in on the waterfall but it's not much to look at imo if you have no sense of the scene. But thanks for the comments.

I like the way the waterfall looks.

 

I only did things to try and recreate the image as I saw it. Mainly white balance and saturation adjustments.
