i have a sigma 2.8.. its alright in my opinon. i really bought it for the 2.8 factor for concerts and what not.. a little bit soft on the edges but its stil good and useable... i was starting photog when i got it for $300. and keeping it until i can save up (justify myself to buy it lol) and buy the canon version at about $1k (24-70 or 28-70).

here are a few examples.. and keep in mind the photobucket ones dumbs it down alot :/ (the first 2)

there are perfectly decent ones out there though for the price, like i said before, im askin for the tamron 70-200 f2.8 for xmas, just cause i dont have the money or intrest to spend over a grand on a camera lense.

I think Tamron has some reliable stuff, but I don't see myself ever owning a Sigma lense

Yeah Tamron has been around for a while I think. And considering some of the pics I've seen taken with Tamron lenses, I'd say they're just about as good as anything else out there.

i dont trust tamron...everytime i pick one of their lenses up it just feels crappy. but i wouldnt mind owning the 17-50 2.8. i have a sigma 10-20 and love it. havent had a problems with it. my friend says it craps out in the cold, which moving back to philly ill find out soon enough haha.

anyway from friday. the last nighttime shuttle launch ever.

compare lenses and you'll see a difference in sharpness, color, and contrast.

here are some shots i just took like 30 minutes ago. On the LCD screen on the camera the exposures looked awesome and perfect. Once i got them on my computer they were all WAY too dark. These are the edited versions. Still not happy with them. The way they look on my camera and through the lens was the result i wanted.
