what would you guys recommended? My options are Nikon D40, D60, D80 I cant seem to find the D70 any who I figured the D80 would be better then the D70

 

shot B&W film for 6 years, rolled my own film, developed it myself and printed my own stuff....so i think i have some experience to warrant use of a DSLR

 

get the best u can afford. cause u will always need the better features.

 

eh thats what i was thinking but I heard that price isnt everything..D80 doesnt come with a video mod but the D60 does however D60 doesnt have tripod holder while D80 does..D40 doesnt seem worth it but iono confusing stuff.

 

just get the best u can afford. price does make a difference. the more u pay the more options come with a camera.

probably not going to get one, I dont even know how to set the speeds and so on..dropped my photography class because it required me to use a 10MM manual camera and class cost too much..haha regret dropping it now.

 

yeah i just WISH i could take a class.

im starting off with a D40 and had it a couple of months. im still getting used to it, but slowly getting the hang of using what settings when. Im thinking about upgrading to a D80 for the AF but it might be down the road?

 

you definitely do not need any experience. just turn it on, roll it to AUTO mode, and start snapping away just like everyone else that doesn't know how to actually use the camera.

also, putting your pictures on a blackframe background and adding a little watermark/signature to your photos helps with making your photos look like you knew what you were doing as well!

then how do you take rolling pictures, do that light thing where one light source can make a whole stream of light, and how do you multiply yourself? lol all basic but cool things I dont know how to do

 

actually having some knowledge of photography before jumping in the DSLR world helps a lot.

I had no knowledge of any of it, and just forced myself to learn by using manual mode. Then I just learned some techniques along the way.

 

learning the basics of exposure and ISO help out SOOOOO much...

 

does everyone actually change the ISO on their dslr often? i just keep mine on the lowest possible which is 200 since i heard higher iso makes the pic grainy
