DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
I can understand if someone is a bad photog and using CA to turn crappy photos into something presentable. But for someone who knows how to shoot and has been using clone stamp/healing brush/patch tool for years, CA is a great tool based on the time it saves alone.
CA has its uses but i agree i worry it will spring up even more ____ty photographers with no idea how to compose a shot.
i also read this article the other day

in response to lack of experience...i have NO experience at all but i'm working on it. i've read countless articles online, i am almost done with the owners manual and i bought the d40 for dummies book a couple weeks ago. i have no desire to become professional, just a good novice who COULD be professional. i love photography, i actually had no idea what i was getting into when i bought into the slr world. i am humbled, truly.
Just a few from dying Easter eggs tonight.

content aware can GTFO. the more i see what content aware can do. the more i hate it. you're going to have people turning out images they really cannot take ANY credit for...
other than they made enough money to drop the cash on a camera/glass that takes photos with good quality. then figured out how to turn it on, aim the camera in the general vicinity of whatever they are trying to take a picture of, and pressing the button which makes it take a picture. then download the file to their computer. open it in a pirated copy of CS5. click some sort of "auto adjust" or whatever CS5 will have to make things require even less knowledge of what they're doing. then content aware fill.
it's just frustrating thinking about the people out there that will have absolutely no idea what they are doing, and no desire to even really learn... talking big and showing off their black bordered/watermarked photos that of course will look nice but just doesn't represent their passion or abilities in the slightest.
i think adobe should make content aware automatically list itself in the metadata of any photo it's used on. and then also, by using content aware, adobe takes 50% (should be more like 90%) ownership of your photo.
ok... i've said my piece. the people that will love and thrive on it will get upset that someone doesn't join in on their knowledge-less "circle jerk" of marketing themselves as something they aren't. i'm done.
and by griping about this, i hope i don't present the wrong impression that i'm something special. because obviously i'm not. i'm a novice. i just think there's a big difference in the people out there with a passion for it, seeking to learn, and those that just want to take credit for things they have next to no knowledge about while shotgunning through Google University's photography class for cheap tricks.

Sure not everyone is going to like it. Purist will hate it to the bitter end but it's nothing new. It's just another stage in photo/image editing and even if you may not use it people in advertising are going to eat this up. Might as well not even use the presets in your digital camera.
As for learning and the passion of photography don't you think learning to edit your photo's so they look their best counts? If not then why learn anything at all. Just point and shoot. If you're not going to try to make it your absolute best why bother learning anything at all? Being a professional only means you make the most of your income from any one profession. Not that you are all knowing and godlike but I hear that helps too. I've seen some great amateurs and some lousy professionals. If you have a passion you're going to do everything you can to make your product the best you can. This means learning all those pesky tips and tricks you can. The key here is to absorb and take in everything. You may not use it but keep yourself open to new ideas.
Take this picture for example. I did some minor editing of which most wouldn't even be able to tell at all. I lightened it up to remove some of the shadow's darkness, added some color and sharpened it up a bit, not to mention cropped the hell out of the original. Oh I also added the annoying black borders you hate so much. My copyright info is there as well. I like it and so do a lot of people and that's just perfect for me. Now content aware will just allow me to remove those people in the background a lot easier and improve the overall image. Is that so bad? I could have waited for no one to be behind her but I don't have the time nor balance to wait for something that's 90% impossible at a car show.

There's going to be new and improved items as technology advances. I didn't like shooting in high ISO but a few people here and on other forums actually helped change my mind. I also learned to use higher ISO's a lot better than what I was used to. Add that with good solid post editing and you come up with a picture that is pure win. Do I take the credit or does the program take the credit? If you think the program takes more of the credit then your camera you use takes even more credit than you for the original picture taken. However, you are still the one making the calls in taking the picture to post editing... regardless of what you think. It's all about learning and using that knowledge to turn out something you and others can enjoy to the fullest.
no way...

i think my favorite part is the LED front turn signals. that or the headlights that go bright/dim on their own depending on if a car is coming towards you. this car is so nice. it's brand new, i'm the first driver.
