DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
Have you owned one before? I can't wait! My next lens will be the 135L and then the 24L. I dunno how long that will take to obtain though...haha
Alas, I have played with the 50L very much (my good friend has one). It is another world. I have used it for every aspect of my photography life (cars, sports, people) and it has never failed me. It never leaves his camera (5DII). He has many other lenses (24-70, 80-200 2.8, 17-40, 15FE, 24TSE...) but he said that he cannot live without his 50L. Though I have never used it on a 1series body, I am sure it will produce amazing images.
Oh, he also prints his images (small to large scale) and they are tack sharp!

^ haha. we'll see. being a broke college student doesn't really help when having photography as a hobby. lol. But maybe if I do step up to an FX body, ill try out the D700. On the other hand really like how Canon HD video is muuuuuuch better..

Go for the D700 unless video is something you actually want. But if the upgrade is way off in the future, I'd wait for the D700x/s/800 because I have a feeling it will be pretty impressive.
Has anyone participated in the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk before? I did last year. It's scheduled for next month if anyone is interested.

thanks for the heads up jon, i'll def. consider that. but i also think the D700x/800 will be impressive and even more expensive! haha.
True, but it will also make the regular D700 prices drop.
Just make sure to look at actual user reviews in addition to the technical data. I'm trying to be as unbiased as possible considering when I decide to upgrade I'm selling all my gear which will put me back at square one.
They both have advantages over each other:
5D2: 21mp, video
D700: 51pt AF, 8fps, better ISO handling (based on results not numbers themselves)
It really comes down to what your needs are and which camera suits those better. Personally I have video and don't use it. And I don't foresee needing to print something larger than poster size.

Needs some pointers as I'm trying to learn about the world of photography. If you guys could C&C for me that would be great. *Ducks behind the Pwned Barrier*

I realize after uploading the pictures are blurry and I need to invest in a monopod.
