DSLR Owners Unite! (56k? Are you kidding me?)
Does Nikon have the cool white lenses? NO!!!!! but Canon does.
I've actually heard that the white lens has a purpose. like light reflects off of it instead of soaking into it like a black lens would thus creating crisper images cause there is no heat in the lens?
maybe that is just retarded to even believe.....ha ha

oh great.. did this thread just turned into nikon vs canon war? way to start to have the thread locked down. can we stay on topic please and enough with nikon have this canon have this. sheesh, most of us are not even pro photog and we cant tell the difference. nikons may have some flaws but does canon. pick what you like best and get it. no canon vs nikon war here please. if one is asking for your opinion, do so but nothing more.

The sensor cleaning question was a serious one I was thinking of. The chances of this thread being locked is very slim unless someone starts posting pr0n or something. But even then just those posts will get deleted. Don't get too serious man. No one's getting butthurt here.. Plus, no one asked for your opinion...
Anyway, did someone say DOF?? No editing just resized. They were just test shots anyhow..All with the 50mm f/1.8.

on the lighter note... i envy you with your 50 1.8... nice shots. im saving for either that or the 1.4

hrm in hind sight I think I shouldve gone with the 50mm 1.4 as opposed to the 50mm 1.8.
Im not feelin the plastic lens mount, and color in the photos.
The lens' color is far more desaturated than my 28-135. Another thing someone told me are that plastic lens mounts over time can shave off and fall onto the cameras sensors and other vital parts inside.
Its a nice lens for the money, but in hindsight I think I shouldve just gone with the 1.4 with the metal mount. I dont think the 1.8 is a lens id use for too long, When money issues improve I think ill pick up the 35mm 2.0 lens.
hey, any camera techies care to explan in laymans terms of what full body and cropped body is and how that affects the focal length number on the lens?

I don't know anything about crop factors, but I do know that the 50mm on a cropped body is equivalent to 80mm.
And I'd love to have the 1.4 over the 1.8, but financially, I can't at the moment.. =[

full body sensor is a full frame sensor meaning the image sensor is the same size as a 35mm negative. A smaller size image sensor is far smaller in comparison so it cuts down on how much of the picture is actually seen through the lens.
Basically draw a 35mm square and inside that square draw one like 25mm. The 25mm square is what the smaller image sensors see.
So with a full frame sensor, when u use a 28mm lens u actually get 28mm.
WIth the smaller sensor a 50mm turns into an 80mm lens cause of the smaller sensor. the crop is like 1.63x i think. So any focal length u use, multiply it by 1.63 and that is the real focal length u will be shooting at. That is the reason for the "digital" lenses (ef-s). They are engineered to compensate for the smaller image sensor, so that u can actually use wide focal lengths.
Understand now?
