the quality of the pics is just like the ones of my kit lense, but i have only done candid shots hahha

i must say though, the lense creep is pretty terrible, kinda scares me. and from 135-200, it zooms minimally, hardly even noticed, but 18 to say 70, roughly the same focal increase, zooms a great deal. i find it weird.

i hope i get some good shots out of it though when i take it out

 

that is my favorite combo. it is amazing what you can do with a d40 and sb400 that people will think was done with equipment that cost about 5x as much. i love how portable it is as well.

 

i love that little flash, very small and does the job well and more. i wanted it because i dont do much shooting but when i need a flash the internal doesnt do the job, the SB400 is perfect and love the size. the 50mm f/1.8 is an awsome little lense, im amazed at the pics it can take. im planning on getting the 18-105 VR by the end of next month, hopefully with my cost of living check. here's some pics i took tonight of the 50mm f/1.8

Its probably the most versatile lens you can buy, it will do all the above pretty well, but none of them as good as a dedicated lens catered to that genre
