congrats jon... your getting the hang of it.

as for people who complains about vista, you can downgrade to XP... just go to your manufacturer's website and find the drivers to downgrade to xp. if your happy with it, more power to yah. as for me... im staying with xp on my desktop and osx on laptop.

yah thats santa monica. its right where they have that running path above PCH by the peer. good spot for some sunset pictures but i missed it by a couple of minutes. sun was gone by the time i found parking.

 

Oh I thought the angle looked familiar. You should try standing in the middle of the bridge and taking an extended exposure of the cars going down pch. Looks like those freeway shots

 

i wanted to but it was a far walk and i was about to run out of time on the parking meter.. next time for sure.. i wanna get the sunset perfect

 

anybody got tips on how to photograph fireworks.. i wanna take some good shots tonight..

 

camera on a tripod and remote activating the shutter open and closed.

basically you hit the remote once to open it, then press it again to close it. repeat as long as the show is going on. you can capture one firework or a bunch in one photo depending on how long you leave it open at a time.



i love when you can see the trail of the firework from ground to sky and then a nice bloom at the end. hard to get it just right.

 

 

 

just got back from hong kong and here is my attempt at fake tilt-shift.. i think its okay for a first time!
