I was probably going to pick up a couple for some extra OCF's. I like the style/function way more than the Vivitar's. But Elijah is right.

And for those of you with Nikon - I've been looking for a lens to buy within the $500-600 range. Ideally something that would be very useful as a walk around lens at a wedding. But from my research, I'm looking at $1,200 for something like the 24-70mm 2.8.
I'm also just thinking about renting a lens for the wedding add using my money on a low end Canon DSLR with good video abilities so I can explore that a little more.

why do you want my T1i? i would think that a D90 is better lol, and ya that slider is more then enough for what i want to do.

your using a d90 which is dx and i know most people will bash the idea of spending so much on a dx lens and all but the nikon 17-55mm f2.8 would be the dx equivalent to that nikon 24-70 and is around the 800 dollar range used. unless your seriously plan to upgrade to an fx body with in the next five years then you should be fine with that.

I want to explore video a lot more. Nikon video isn't up to date, IMO. My D90 only does 720p at 24fps. It's not bad but I want something with more range. Still can't decide if I want to keep my D90 and just pick up a T1i/T2i or just sell my Nikon gear and move to Canon all together. Every time I pick up a Canon body I get the urge to sell the Nikon goodies.
You're right. I don't know when I'll go full frame. Don't see the need for it at the moment. So the 17-55mm 2.8 would do great.

I do like how solid the nikons are compared to my T1i. haha plus the autofocus seems a lot smoother then my canon lenses 50mm 1.8 and 18-55 kit
