We weren't too close.

The closest anything got, was where the stuff is in the water. This was before they set up the pylons for the track. That's 10mm btw, so it makes things look a little further than they really were.
This was the third pylon in the chicane, in the first pic, it's the furthest one in the set of 3, pretty much right in the middle of the pics. Cropped to 100%.
