Yeah its pretty bad. Focus is way off and soft as fuhhh at 1.4. And I don't mean because of the razor thin DOF. I'm trying my luck with another copy through exchange. If its still no good I'll either just get the Canon or send the lens into Sigma. Beyond the focus issues, this lens is pretty awesome.

Hope they send you a better copy, Jasper!

Im diggin the pictures on this page. I need to get out and shoot. Haven't had a whole lot of inspiration or time recently.

March is coming up soon, and we havent had a challenge thread since December. Has anybody thought about making a new one?

It's pretty safe with macro lenses. The Sigma 105 & Sigma 150 that I have owned were both great with no flaws from manufacturing. The Tamron 90mm SP Di that I bought used from Houston Camera Exchanged flaked out on me 12 days after purchase. The clutch mechanism froze, but I liked it so much I bought a new one :D

the only 3rd party lens ive used were the 10-20mm sigma and the 11-16mm tokina since nikon cant seem to make a decent wide angle zoom that isnt a million dollars. and i preferred the tokina one over the sigma.

I just got a Tokina 11-16 (nikon) last week. I can't make any complaints about it at all after 2 events.

Yup, and the $1300 Nikon 24-120 F4 I bought had to go in for warranty service within two months of purchase to have the encoder replaced and AF motor tweaked. So much for Nikon QA being flawless. They are just a smudge better at it than the 3rd parties... Maybe.

Name should really be Canon swap meet, but it's a great place to look when CL doesn't have what you want. https://www.facebook.com/groups/PhotogSwap/

I didn't even realize that Exposed 9 was in Weat Palm Beach. Since I don't have to drive more than 10 minutes, I'll be going.

i could never picture that body style TL "modded" but that actually looks pretty slick.
