I love my D5100. I'm sure I'll go full-frame sometime within the next few years, but the 5100 is plenty of camera for me at this point.

I backed myself into a financial corner. The cars getting parted out (some of it anyway), a couple lenses are going, and a few other random trinkets until I can get back on my feet. **** has been rough lately. So I'll just be shooting with a 50mm 1.4 for a while. Hopefully it doesn't get any worse.

Anybody anything photo related on Black Friday? I bought 9 terabytes of internal HDDs for $267 shipped. Adobe Photoshop Elements 11, premiere and Win 8 Pro. Nikon D5100 for my mom & Dad. And a few other things but those were the big ticket items.

 

Nah. I bought my 85 the previous week because I wanted a new prime for indoor shooting, and that pretty much exhausted any extra funds I had.
9 TB is a TON of memory.. you got a pretty good deal.

 

Nothing I want was on sale lol. Nikon is always stiff with price drops and rebates. I need a MB-D10 and a 135mm f/2 DC. Gonna try and find both used because that totals $1600 alone new.

 

Well, I just ordered a Vello Shutterboss for my D7000 and a B+W MRC UV filter for my 17-40mm L. I'm waiting for B&H or Adorama to get some more 64gb SDXC micro cards in. UHS-1, Class 10, & 64gb for $40 shipped? Yes. Yes I will. They're great for time lapse. I mean, I could get standard size SDXC but I want them to be interchangeable with a GoPro HD 3 I'm going to purchase in Jan 2013

 

The deal on those SDXC cards is ridiculous. If i had any spare cash at all right now, I'd be all over it.

 

I went ahead and picked up a few standard sized SDXC 64gb SanDisk Extreme 30mb/s cards for time lapse.

Woooo. Charging the battery on my Dad's D5100 I got him and my Mom for christmas.

 

Hell yeah. It's a solid camera, for sure.

Well, I just finished setting it up. Fn = Change ISO. AEL/AFL = AF-ON. And a few little things here and there.
