Yeah I spent a lot of time looking at sample photos. I'll try and shoot some tomorrow. I ran out of time after washing my car.

Thanks, man. I took far too many to post. Most of them are just dumb. They're in a set on flickr:

That 85 is great. Definitely a nice one to have for either DX or FX.
And thanks!

You're welcome. One could break themselves for the next 10 years on camera lenses. I was poking fun at a friend of mine the other day saying he's has a $10,000 sack...of camera lenses that is. But if you are a professional I guess it's justifiable then. I'm still procrastinating about a $200 lens, lol!

Seriously. I've spent over 3X what I originally planned on spending. Oops.

If you do your home works before buying any equipments that would same you a bunch of $ also buying it as second hand it doesn't lose value if you plan to switch to something else. I regretted when I purchase my first entry DSLR for close to 1k when I recent upgraded to a 5D Mark II with bunch of accessories for $300 more. If I plan to resale it I wouldn't loose any $ to resale a 5d at amazon lowest used price as we're talking about gears prices.

Thats true. Unfortunately, new gear depreciates quite a bit. Especially DX bodies, as new tech comes out fairly regularly. I originally just bought a d5100 kit for about $700. Then later bought a 55-300 and 35mm, neither of which I can use on FX. So I took a hit on everything when I sold out. In a period of a little more than a year. It really doesnt seem like a whole lot if you space out your purchases. But if you look at what all you have and sum up the value, it can be surprising.

Thanks! Although I went back and forth for about a month on whether I should buy it or not, now I can see how much I needed it.

Personally, I like how people think their D80's (nikon) are still worth close to retail. Even with 10,000 shutter clicks. At least that's how my local Craigslist is.

I sold my D90 for current retail. They're on close out for $500 new and I sold my kit for $650.

You guys are going to get tired of seeing our cat, but she likes to pose and I needed to test the 85.

Sold my d5100 kit for just over half of what I paid for it. 11k clicks and not a scratch, scrape, or dent on it. Had it on CL for months at 450 and didn't get a bite. Ended up selling it to a friend for $400.

Cat pics>everything
