... after doing some brief research on whats optimal exposure times (in general) looks like I had my exposure setting too low which would cause "under exposure". I can change that on my point and shoot and I set mine to an ISO of 100 and will take a couple piks and then take some at ISO 200.

 

Played with the ISO settings a lil bit...

 

I played around with the sky on this photo and really like what happened.
