FS ALL: Door Retention Rods
I have searched for some door prop rods online and found that they were really expensive... So, I came up with a design of my own for my xB2. I had a chance to test them out on Father's Day 2009 at the Medford Cruise car show. I got a lot of positive feedback so I decided to take this hobby to the next level. The rods hold the doors open at 16" (wide enough for people to still see inside, but closed far enough so they can walk between the cars) the ends are bent in a hook so that the only way to remove them is to pull the door handle as if you were opening your door. And the ends are rubberized to protect the car. For my xB, I made a set of 5, the 4 doors and the rear hatch.
I am selling them in sets of 2 through 5 depending on your needs.
2 rods - $20.00
3 rods - $25.00
4 rods - $30.00
5 rods - $34.00
extra rods are available @ $7 per rod.
please state the quantity in your orders
Prices include shipping.
POWDER COATING OPTION:
Colors (so far) include:
Gloss Black, white
2= $30
3= $35
4= $40
5= $45
Custom colors are available and cost an additional $5 per set, and will require 1-2 weeks producti on and coating. PM me with your color request.
*NOTE - with Powder coating it is impossible to COLOR MATCH-or-color key to a specific car color.. but I've seen some that come close.
Here are some examples of the basic colors they have. there are other styles available but they didn't have anything I could take with me, and I found this color chart online.

Would not have won without the door prop rods. Really though made a nice display. Think you are selling them to cheap for amount of labor but good of you to make them affordable for SL people.

These door prop rods are very nice. I got a chance to see them in person at the Medford Cruise Car Show. If I did not already have door prop rods, I would be all over buying these. Nice job making them Andrew . 2 thumbs up!!!!!!

so, I'm not sure if instructions are needed, but if you do need them here they are....
You will notice that the rods bend in different ways. There is a reason for this. The bend in the door end of the rod should bend towards the outside. And down through the hook on the car body on the other end. insert the door jam (car body) side first...
To secure the rods in the doors simply place the rod in the door latch and GENTLY push it in until the latch catches. To remove the rod, just pull the door handle like you were opening the door. Just make sure to hold the prop rod in your other hand so it doesn’t drop and possibly scratch you paint.
