WTB: p tuning exhaust
The industry norm is to call them Turbo back since they bolt to the downpipe. That's just the way it is.
And it just seemed like you were trying to start up an advertisment for making people custom exhaust. If everyone has to travel to you for an exhaust, then you are a bit limited in customer base.
And PTuning didn't just make an "exhaust". It's specifically designed and engineered to bolt up to their turbo system. It also has a few little small details that might seem trival to some people, but to me it is very thoughtful.
Price is all a matter of what you wanted to do. To get EXACTLY what I wanted and have PTuning's quality to detail behind it (which they are the most detailed automotive shop I have come across thus far....like I said, they take care of the "little" things), is worth $1200.00 to me.

Anyways arent you the guy that loves everything ptuning is involved in/with/around
LOL....am I "the guy"...there is no "the guy" as there are a crap load of people who love everything PTuning is involved in/with/around.
Did you not see the pole results recently? The number of people who enjoy PTuning's craftsmanship and hard work is (what's the best word)...."Staggering".
When a guy (ElevationtC), takes his turbo kit that he custom did, making 362whp and running mid 12's down the 1/4 mile and sells all of it for a PTuning turbo kit....say's something about what they do.
So, no I'm not "that guy", as there are many like me who would drop off their car with PTuning in a heart beat.
Beats the heck out of me bro. Word of mouth is a powerful tool though.
For me personally, I've torn down PTuning's transmission while at the track, and donated parts off a spare tranny I had sitting in the garage, so for me...yeah I've seen it, and road in it at Redline Time Attack last year at my home track. Then I raced along side them in Redline Time Attack this year. They are the people to talk to next to Chris Rado when your at the track and needing tips/advice on how to handle track days.
My whole Car club (all Scions) consisting of about 50 members are all PTuning fans. The average group we get together with for events though is around 20 members. Of those 20, about 5-8 of us sat around PTuning's tC and helped wrench on it and tear apart their transmission when they came upon a 4th gear problem. Needing a spare tranny for parts, since I lived only about 10 mins away from the track, we grabbed mine. They didn't end up using the parts in it, but it was there for their disposal.
Race day's are always fun.
I think you just hit on a point there. They are one of the few shops I've seen that actually does the R&D on their own vehicles, not a loaner just for test fit. They push their designs to the mechanical limits, break stuff, analyze what fails and then change the design for the better. This is a critical feedback loop I don't see most other places. They even develop produce primarily for use on their race vehicles, only later seeing if the demad is there for mass production (turbo kit, exhaust kit, return fuel setup, short block build, head bolts, etc). Typically, a shop will produce a kit and then see who races with it.
People probably voted for them because they trust their product enough to use it on their own assets, when money and more importantly driver safety is on the line.
Now I'll quietly re-direct this thread back on topic, ...shhh, I'm not the troll you're looking for.
Steve (the OP), I'm guessing you don't want to spend what a new PTuning downpipe-back costs otherwise you wouldn't be looking for a used one. I'd suggest to you a couple of shops if you want to stay in MD and go custom. First one is closer to me in Calvert Co. I'll be going there to switch to a dual sidepipe setup.

If you want single piece bent instead of welded, check out Mandrel bend solutions in Pasadena. They bend on-site but will probably be a bit more than welded.
