Default '06 tC and max Fuel Range

I am going to be taking a little voyage to San Antonio on Friday and was wondering if any of you have made that particular trek in a tC. I'm working out the numbers for my fuel range and not entirely confident in my mileage #'s because I drive pretty hard in town, but more or less 'laxed on the interstate.

How bout a quick check in for those who have taken a long trip in their tC and how far did you go and @ what speed before having to pull over to refill?

And of course those who have made the fantastic voyage to S.A. please feel free to gimme some fill up checkpoints. I figured I can make Las Cruces or El Paso before my first fillup...fill up again in Van horn, then boogie to Kerrvile just before S.A. Please help

I'm the same way in city driving. Usually my mileage with my older Supercharged tC was about 20 mpg city and 30 freeway (went to phoenix a few times). Pretty surprising for me. Now that I am turboed I get like 16 mpg city and not sure for freeway. Only have 1100 mile on it so far

Hope you have a good trip Fred!! Be safe

Off topic , but what do you liker more the s/c or the turbro. Also do think the s/c is worth it.

Don't mean to thread jack but just to answer the question I love the SC. For the price it offers a good HP increase and warranty. Turbo on the other hand is awesome and a bit more power just cause you get all the torque early in the power band so it slams your head back!

I've made the trip from Austin to PHX. All I can tell you is to get gas when ever you can!! Fill up in El Paso and don't let a gas station go by without stopping. There is NOTHING in west Texas! You won't get below 1/4 of a tank if you stop whenever you see a station. But if you miss one, you're in for a long hike!

I'm assuming you're taking I10. 15 hour drive to Austin (did it in the rain so it limited my speed). About 90 mins to SA from Austin on I35 (IH35 as they call in Texas).

Good luck

Mish
