Default Ribbons lol

I hope he did not have to take out a long term loan for the car show prizes..I have only attended 4 car shows and they have all given out trophys and plaques this is a first for me where they gave out ribbons lol

Next year at this time ill spend my $30 at Barrett-Jackson car auction I just felt like this car show was just shredding my insides to ribbons ;-)

Oh by the way your Scions really looked good and what a great club you guys have..

This was a drift event, if no one noticed that and the car show was just to go along with it! Yes, trophies would have been nice...but that isn't why I went to this show and thought we were all past that crap!!! For me, not being able to see everyone so often during this time of the year, it was great just to get to hang with everyone again. That is the part I love about us, yes I said love! We are a family, we may not be able to see each other every week and sometimes we have to go months before we can come out, but whenever you do...you know you will be welcomed with everyone just like family! It's like SA, Scikotics and NL are Aunt's/Uncles and we are all the cousins. Okay, it's too early in the morning for the mushy crap, but just think about it.....

I personally had an absolute blast and must say, unfortunately, now am hooked on Drifting...Anyone want to trade me a 240 LS for my tC??? Seriously though!!!!

Jim, don't sweat it mang! Had a great time and have my ribbon hanging on the wall with my other few trophies and plaques!!!!! Can't wait for the next one!!!

I agree. What was the $30 for? No food or drink, parked in the only dirt lot at firebird. If it wasnt for Big Two Toyota, we wouldnt of had the water. Show was a joke. I know it was a drifting thing, but then why was there a show that cost so much money? It was rediculous. If the Scions didnt show up there would of not been a show. Amber stayed up for 2 days straight so she could make this show, and what a let down.

Guys, I was let down as well. I made a mad dash from Canada to get back in time for the show and make it early am... But ah well. It was his first show he put on and I know he worked his **** off putting it together. Many things combined lead to the overall days feelings. The drifting was great to watch as well as the driving school. It is a live and learn experience for everyone.

I definitly understand everyones frustrations though. Heck quoting a vender that I overheard "Oh man the scion guys are going to be ____ed off" when he saw the awards... well that pretty much sums it up, everyone felt that way deep down inside. We all worked DARN hard prepping our cars, getting up well before dawn and then paid a $30 entry fee. For some of us, just to attend a show cost a small fortune. My tally for the day....

$10 for new micro fiber
$3-5 for misc cleaning supplies
$30 gas for the tC
$45 gas for the 4runner
$25 in food
$30 entry
$30 in child care
$100 airline change fee to make sure I got back in time
Not to mention I condensed my work schedule getting 3-4 hours of sleep multiple nights last week to make sure I could attend.

Overall I am into the show $275 or more deep
, worked my **** off setting up / worked my **** off building a car specifically to show... Even if I got 3rd place, honorable mention or anything like that... A cheap ribbon smaller than one I got in 1st grade for an art project just felt like a rude slap in the face for all the work and effort we all put in and all the work we did to promote the show which is why I think most people feel the way they do as a lot of people are in the same boat as I. Most people do no think about how much it cost just to attend a show... for some it just cost gas money, for others much more. Even the little picture frame deal Right toyota gave was personal, cheap and nice. I actually really liked it. Even had a photo of our car in each frame. That is a keepsake sort of thing while not costing much at all. Ah well... Just wanted to point out some details... will help people putting on a show realize what a person that plans to show the car goes through prepping for a show or to make a show.

I do have to mention that I did not appriciate my wife getting harrased at the gate for a $5.00 parking fee because she took people to go get food and drinks after we had been in the show all morning and the lady saw her drive out. She even explaned to the lady that they just went to get food and drinks for us all because there was none and she was insisting that we pay a parking fee to get back in. She also told the lady that Jim had let us park our car in the show all morning, and she replied somthing along the lines of "I do not care what he said, I am running this show" Kyle and some others helped out to get things straight but wow... that was a little off the wall and rude I felt.

Jim was very nice all morning until he dissapeard in a drift car for the rest of the day *LOL* If I was him, I think I would have been stuck myself in a car all day as well... but there are some things he should have been there for later in the day.

After thinking about it all, Would I do it again? Yeah I sure would. You cannot put a price on good friends, good chat, the overall experience of us all hanging out in the dark and the crack of dawn and such.Well all pulled together, those of us with cars went out and got food, heck Louis even covered a few $ on Wendy and I's 1st meal Bigg J had grub ready for us upon arrival as well. Good people are priceless. As Kyle said, it was GREAT to see everyone and just hang out with you all. Seems like I only see you all every 2 months or so. And yeah, does feel like family, cousins and such as I do not have much family down here in the PHX area and my family locally... well does not feel like family. But you guys do.
