I'm with Ray, we don't have the roads around here to be doing some serious canyon driving like that...it ain't Pikes Peak ya know... ...I crack myself up. Plus, it just isn't safe or respectful to those on the roads not wanting to drive that way. I am sure there will be times when the lead foots can step on it a bit and shake that out of their system, but let's remember to keep this safe and fun. There are a lot of people on this trip and a ton of different driving skill levels I am sure!

Can't wait, should be a blast!

Don't get me wrong, I love to open her up from time to time, but that is only on long open roads where I know I ain't going to hurt someone else or get pulled over.

For this one, slow and steady will win the race...I'll be right with ya Ray!

If I owned a prepped "road racer" then I might . Just like the old days bombing Coal Creek Canyon, but with the wife with me on this trip-- no chance in hell.

Ahh you old guys are no fun!!!! lol J/K sounds like fun I guess I could just cruise the mountain. I defenitely don't have a wife or kids so I understand yeah safe driving is a must especially if this group starts to get big I guess a large mass of cars rolling down a mountain at triple digit speeds doesn't qualify as the smartest ideas ever thought.

Awesome! I'll put you down!

Safe is always best. I've been on runs back in SD where we've had snow and down pouring rain. Funner than ____, but had a few nonos cause some didn't know how to drive:

How to "drift" a Focus...lol

Hopefully we won't see anything like the last couple of pics you posted. Are all party's involved in this trip aware of the no stupid ____e rule? I know boys will be boys and boys with fast cars tend to do stupid things sometimes.

I'll make sure cause I'm leading the pack :D. There will be of course "spirited" driving. Nothing nuts and will be plenty safe ;).

Here's a couple pics of my car BTW. If you see me on the road in AZ, be sure to say hi :

That's all after this:

It had this front end on it before:

I didn't like the 05' front end to begin with so me and my buddy swapped

I thought the same thing.

Them some clean Focus's right there! Can't wait...should be fun!
I learned my lesson mountain driving a few years back in CO when some yahoo cut me off on I-70 going around a corner...learned you don't tap the brakes at that point...ended up doing a 360 and finished up going straight down the road at about 15 mph...heart was going 200 though!!!

Ray, you would know the spot...just after you start the climb from Frisco to Vail Pass. You pass Copper on the left and it is the first big right turn with no gaurd rail and a 60 foot drop off!

I've got a question for travis what do you call a pack of focuses??? Focuses or foci??? I was just wondering what it was that the people in the know called it.

Well, the proper way is to say Focuses through the English term of it, but Foci is the cool term .

The reason I swaped it out is cause I never really like the front end of the 05 to begin with, but it grew on me. Everyone , though, had the same damn body kit . Only like 4 different kits were made. NOW, I have my pick of the litter...lol I'm thinking of going SVT front end, with maybe a Euro or EVO 5 rear and Roush skirts.

Hopfully, I'll have the RS wing on before the year is out, but this is my current project:

A set of Motegi MR7's in 17"s

They were free from a buddy of mine back in San Diego and I'm givin them some love with a spray can :D. They'll be high gloss black with white dust caps.

The 00-04 and 05-07 frames are exact. Just small changes to the fronts and rears (for the Sedan). Kinda lame that we didn't get a whole new model till 08, but what can you do? The 08' looks like ___ anyways .
