I don’t want this to come out like a rant at any one person or anything but I think there’s an issue here that I, no we, need to address.
First of all, I don’t know of an area of the country that is as active as the D&S region has been. We’ve been to places like Roswell, Vegas, Havasu, Sedona, Silver City… all over AZ, and all reports are that great times were had.
Scionetics was created to help build a Scion community in the Valley. It was the D&S people that made it happen though. The small core of people that we hooked up with out at the Pavilions way back when stuck with it was we grew and started moving the weekly meet about the Valley. I even tried to get all the other dealers, selling Scion at that time (not Avondale), to get involved with Scionetics back then. None were interested. No problem, didn’t need them, we had the people.
And what about those people? Think about the mad talent we’ve got here. N2HTWLZ, Randode, Garage 1.2.1.7., RJ, NOLIMITZ, Inc., and others I am sure I am forgetting to mention. Then there are the people that show up to help each other. Whether it was in a time of crisis or just someone needed extra hands for a move, mod or other project. We’ve had members get their companies involved like Boomster and the discounts he got people for road trips, food from different restaurants and product for some of the giveaways and so on. And let’s not forget the companies that stepped up to the plate as needed. Memphis Audio, MTX, Rockford, Rockblocker, RIM 1 and a few others.
Mr. H., now that you work for “the other guys” we all look forward to having more dealer involvement. Let’s just not let our bosses think the D&S is a battle to be won. I wish we’d been sharp enough to hire you when we had the opportunity
I guess I’m just saying we’ve got resources. The most important of which is the people. But who is in charge? Who should lead? That’s the issue and I think the answer is…
You.
TTown, you suggested a road trip recently. Plan it! Give us some time to get through SpringQUAKE but get it set up and we’ll be there.
DevsTc, you brought up a mod party. Great idea. I can see if we can use the service drive here at Camelback on a Sunday. Don’t know about insurance issues but I’ll ask. If not, we can find a good spot.
City of Tucson! Why don’t you guys get it rolling like we know you can? I think, given a little notice, many of us would love to roll there three or four times a year. When will ScionERA be up and running? Let’s get an event calendar up on Scionetics and link it all back to your site.
To each of you. I know you have ideas and they have been good ones. Share them. Check out the calendar and, if you don’t see something in conflict let me know and we’ll post your event up. It doesn’t matter if it’s just hanging out in a parking lot somewhere or a new place to try out for food, drinks or treats.
Share your ideas, let’s get 2007 on track and build up some momentum like we can.
Thanks for listening.

Way to go Mark
I miss the old days where we had something going on almost every weekend. Let's get some things going!! Maybe something on the eastside
I know I'll try to come up with something. Maybe when it starts getting a little warmer we could have a big potluck or bbq or something at a park. Or maybe some basketball!
Hey now that I'm thinking about stuff you know what would be cool? To be able to get a HUGE group picture done. Kinda like that one scion catalog (the first one I ever saw) that probably had about 100 people with their cars in the photo....I think that'd be sweet.

yeah, im down for another drive-in like for FF3. that was my first event with you guys. obviously it made a long lasting impression because im still here
i have to agree with mark- i have never lived in a place where the automotive community is so strong and close to one another. and trust me, ive been to a lot of places. you guys rock. because if it wasnt for the people, this place would be like any other.
i like the group photo idea. Nick do you have a link for where that pic is of all the people in Miami?
The drive in was fun but no where in part because of the quality of watching that movie in the car

drive in was my first meet as well.
since we are in the talk of movies.
how about we try to rent out a theater for like a showing.
just for SCIONS
we can hook up with a movie place, and get tickets real cheap if we hold a BIG meet in their parking lot or whatever.
idk just a thought......
