car problem

Default car problem

Hey guys, i just had intake and header installed on my car last monda. ran fine for awhile then started to run not smoothly. called weapon-r for tech support sd to reset ecu. reset ecu didnt run engine hard now have a burning smell coming from engine any suggest or know anybody that could look at car. any info would help.Thanks

Burning smell can be just break in or something got on the header.

there was no smell after a couple of days, but since i reset ecu tiday it started to smell again

i can only think that something is loose and you are loosing exhaust somewhere. Mine ran a little choppy at first, but the ECU had to adjust to the new set up.

somebody told me that i should have my headers retightned after couple hundred miles maybe i will do that and see if it does better and wait a couple of days to see if smell goes away.thanks

so are you running the header and S pipe? Cause if I remember right you have to run both of that with there set up. Most likely just something on the header.

Just as everyone else has said the burning smell is just that of the new header and its normal. I will go away in a few days. and Yes you will want to check your bolts and snug them back up because they will loosen up a bit. which is normal after installing headers.

could be a blown gasket on the header and your smelling excessive amounts of exhaust. ...I'm thinking the aftermarket gaskets arent as good as factory
