If you are looking to buy. Buy a condo. At least you will be paying towards something you own.

If not, get whatever is best for your budget and location.

my wife and I just got a condo and we love it. We just got married and are only 26 and 25 so don't have huge loads of cash. We wanted our money to at least go somewhere so we got a condo. Great first step. Go with the condo if the budget allows. Build that equity! Good luck

With the real estate market the way it is right now, you might be able to move on a foreclosed property soon. Why a condo? A house will give you space to work on your car, you'll own *actual land*, and you won't have to pay condo fees.

If you are looking to buy I would try for a house over a condo if you can. Unless location is important to you.
