Default Replacing Shocks

I have 2 blown shocks and was going to replace them, all 4. My car has ~115k miles. Are there any other parts I should replace while I have got my suspension apart.

I was thinking it might be good to do the upper mounts. What about the seats, dust seals and insulators?

I am going to get KYB GR2/Excel G.

So many people have viewed this thread and nobody has an opinion.

Anyway, from other forums I have determined that I should go ahead and replace the top mounts and the insulator(tube that goes over the end of the strut to protect it from dirt) based on my car's mileage.

Does anyone think it will be an issue to have different struts front(KYB) and back(OEM)?

My car has NF-210 springs and I have the Hotchkis sway bar set installed.

Kind of in the same situation. Stock OEM w/a blown LR shock & on Eibach springs

My thinking at first was going w/coilovers but giving some thought to going w/a bit higher quality strut (i.e. Tokico)

Running diff shocks front to rear is certainly not optimum but if you just cruise the XB you will likely not notice the diff. It it was me, I would make to run all 4 corners the same

Not sure about the other suspension pieces. Just checked Energy suspension & Whiteline but they do not have any upgrades for the XB

I looked into coilovers but I have read they wear really quickly in the winter with the salt. I don't want to have to deal with swapping suspension twice a year.

I'm okay with the stiffness of my suspension, its actually a little bit on the stiff side for me but the handling is so much better than stock that I don't mind. I have read the Tokico's are stiffer so I don't think I want to get them.

I am also thinking about just going back to stock springs.

Tokico blues and KYB are really close to direct oem replacements, you won't see any benefit or upgrade, it would just be a better ride because they're new, compared to the old struts you're replacing.

I'd sugest TRD's

I still think I am going to go with KYB. Its hard to argue with $57.99 ea. for the fronts and $54.79 ea. for the rears. Everything else is twice the money.
