These guys have helped me out of two DIY's gone bad (1 plumbing, 1 A/C). They didn't charge me astronomical extra charges for same-day, weekend service either. These guys have been very good to me.

What part is the controller? Is it the middle valve of the three? If so, that is easy to replace. I have done it a couple times here at my house. If that is it, hard water tends to cause the rubber gasket on the valve to wear thin.

 

I'm replacing the shower/tub control. This is as far as I got yesterday....

 

So I guess what you are saying is we should avoid you for the next few days because you stink with no shower?

I only live a few miles away if ya need a cleanup.

The new one is still sitting in the box. I want to change out the orignal 1979 shower/tub controls.

 

I'm sure Randode's sweated a few pipes in his day. It's not real hard, but if you're not comfortable, let someone who's done it before help you out. In fact, given the level of mechanical inclination in this group I'd say there are a bunch of people that could help you out.

 

It appears you need a little more than a shower control unless my eyes deceive me.................
