Gauging interest in starting a new car meet (AZ)
Hello guys. So on the heels of the great turn out that we had for the meet that took place on the 21st, I had brought up in a thread on CStC that the car club I belong to is interested in putting together a new car meet. We figure the car scene in the greater Phoenix area feels pretty stagnant and that the Pavilions meets on Saturdays are pretty much the only worthwhile automotive gatherings. I hear murmurs of other meets around town, but nothing on the scale that Scottsdale has.
What I would like to use this thread for is basically gauging how many of you on this site would be interested in attending this meet and making an effort to make it into something that, with any luck, will get to be just as big if not bigger than the Pavs meet.
The club and I spent some time milling over the possible details as far as date, time and location go and we've pretty much settled on the Norterra shopping center at Happy Valley. Being that is not very far north of the 101/I-17 exchange, the location should be attractive due to the fact that you'd be doing most of your driving on the highway, so it should attract more people. Parking lot is well lit and very large, much like Pavs. Also, lots of food and drink in and around the area as well as gas for those that need to refuel. It'll be at about the same time of evening/night as Pavilions (5ish-Whenever). In order to not force people to choose this meet or Pavs, we'd like to do it on a Friday so people can go to both if they wanted to.
Feel free to post suggestions. I'm going to repost this on ScionLife as well and see what kind of responses I get there. Leave a message here if you'd be interested in making this happen. I'd like to get a long list of names of potential attendees for this guys because the guys and I are really excited to make this happen.
For those of you who also have CStC accounts, here is the link to the thread on that fourm: http://clubsciontc.com/forums/west-f...meet-az-48645/

The car club I used to be in would meet every Friday at F1/octane racing. Its a huge lot. And you can always go cart racing at the same time.
I would try to keep it every other week. People will get burnt out on it and stop showing up.
Ill swing by casually.
