To get our members to come from out of state and pay $50 or $25 we are going under the assumption there is some sort of car show. Based up on what you've stated, I would decipher at Spring Quake is not a car show event. No judging, no trophies.
That's fine, we want to be sure as the two day Art of Noize show is the week before Spring Quake. The feedback I've received is that the out of state members and non-members would be leaning more towards Art of Noize than coming out here for a non-show event.

That is their choice. You are misunderstanding the fee though. The $50 is a registration fee to be returned to attendees in the form of a gas card. The event will actually be free.

Any car show involved with 'Quake would be for fun or charity. Like maybe at Phoenix Children's Hospital where the kids vote with toys or something that is being donated to the hospital. There are plenty of car shows out there for folks to compete in. Scionetics, being about community, seeks to include everyone that owns a Scion, whether they are into the car-show culture or not.

No judging.

Some people would rather just hang out and skip all the crap! I was part of the scion crowd back in 06' and now I am back. I hope to make it out to some events. I can see that being away for a few years... some things have changed. Instead of coming together... it looks like some are hell bent on dividing!

ok, I am going to say something here.

This whole bickering between people in this community is what broke it up last time. This has got to end or this region having one of the best and well known groups of Scions is going to come to a end. I hate to see people leave the group, but with crap like this it is going to happen more and more. Noone wants to see that happen.

There is alot of us in SA that would like to say "thank you" Mark for everything you have done for the community. Without alot of the stuff you have done in the past and hopefully in the future this group would not be what it is. We (SA) are all about hanging out and having meets without shows. That is where some of the best friendships are built. We all get to hang out and not worry about trying to impress anyone. Now we all want to have the best looking vehicles out there, but at these meets we all just get to hang out and have fun. Some of us have full built show cars and some dont. A trophie dont make you who you are. You make you who you are. So to me a trophie is a nice peice of plastic that tells you that you spent way to much money on your car. LOL.. Crap I won best xB at Import Show Off yesterday and gave the trophy to my 5 year old to play with. A meet is a meet with or without trophies. So if a trophy is holding people back from coming out to this, I will give someone a trophy just for the heck of it to see them here.

I have been doing a meet once a month at the same spot to try and get us all back together again. Now I missed last months because of a show, but I am going to try and do one this month. SEMA is putting a bind on me, trying to get the xB done for it.

Once again. Tahnk you Mark for what you have done for ALL of us.

Chad, I was wondering? Do you know of ANY PLACE? Where one might find a great deal on a new and/or used Toyota Truck/Car or Scion? In this huge and unsure city is there ANYONE who could help me with a great attitude and great customer service? Cuz I know I have some friends who can't afford to pay thier bills having to pay so much for gas and are looking for a cheaper more reliable way of making ends meet??? So I was telling them to go with a reliable Toyota model that can get up to 25+MPG! Just a question

its pretty cool
Take this a step further and add entrance to the trunk or treat with a couple of cans of food to donate to the local food bank. Times are tough and the holidays are just around the corner.
