Default Had to collect on a TSB

I was having problems with filling up my tank, stick the nozzle in, set it to run and it would click off as if it was full. In order to fill the tank you would have to barely squeeze the nozzle and let it fill slowly.

My Service advisor told me there is a TSB on that problem, and depending on your mileage requires replacing the fuel tank and the little neck that leads up to it.

They swapped everything out for me so I brought the car in on empty, and fair warning that little light for the gas tank was on but there was still close to 3 gallons in the tank when they pulled it off.

Everything works fine now but if you are having this problem you might want to tell your service advisor and see what they say.

I will get back on tonight and post the TSB number when I get home.

Yeah, I have the same problem, but only at certain gas stations. If it has do with your mileage I have plenty of that. Just over 56,000. I drive alot.

I have brought myself to do quite a bit of research into this topic. I found out that most gas stations have a low resistance nozzle in order to avoid spillage, seems how everyone uses the little clip to hold up the nozzle all the time. The xb filler neck is at such an angle that if you set the nozzle down to go sit in your car, the angle increases the pressure near the nozzle, causing the pump to shut off alot, which gets annoying.

So what im trying to say is, don't be lazy and tip the nozzle up until the tank is full. :-)

just tryin to be honest.

I had the TSB done. Before, I could never fill with the lever more than halfway depressed at my usual station. Now, It's full bore.

They replace the tank, filler tube, and some assorted gaskets and such.

None of that mattered, the only way to fill the tank was to barely squeeze the nozzle and let it fill slowly, we are talking 7-10 minutes worth of this to fill 3/4 of the tank. Thats proably why there is a TSB about it. You couldnt set or fully squeeze the nozzle because it would shut off.
