I'm Back - pics from mainland China and Hong Kong
I made it back from my trip Friday night. Overall it went pretty well.
First I was in Chengdu, China from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon. Chengdu is the capital of the Sichuan provence in southwest China, famous for all the good, spicy Chinese food.
Here is a pic of the system I went to train the customers to use.
On Sunday morning we went to a museum with 4,000 year old artifacts found by a farmer in 1929, mostly bronze. This one is a replica.
Outside view of one of the museum buildings.
This waterfall is on the grounds of the museum.
The restaurant where we ate lunch.
On Sunday afternoon I left Chengdu for Hong Kong, and stayed there until Friday afternoon.
Here is the view out my hotel window. The park is for the apartment towers adjacent to the hotel.
Here is a picture of the hotel and adjoining mall. On this side you entered the hotel through the mall. It rained pretty much the whole time I was there.
Every night they have a light show across the harbor, lasers and building lights flashing. I was on the Kowloon Island side, this is a view of the Hong Kong Island side.
View of Hong Kong Island during the day.
The avenue of stars has handprints of Hong Kong movie stars in the concrete on this walkway out over the water.
Statue of Bruce Lee on the Avenue of Stars.
Clock tower. It probably has some story, but I don't know it.
Museum of Art.
Near where I was staying and working there were no sidewalks, just bridges and tunnels.
Miscellaneous street shots.
One night it was so humid the camera couldn't take a clear picture. It wasn't raining or foggy, the air was just saturated.
bBlover asked for car pics, so here they are.
This chinese microvan is about the size of an xB without the hood, only about a foot narrower.
"Full-sized" vans in Hong Kong.
The world's only cool minivan, Toyota Alphard. I saw a bunch of these.
bB I saw inside the fire station. I was afraid to go inside the gate to get better pictures.
I saw this bB driving down Canton street and just happened to have my camera in my hand. It went past and I ran down the street like a crazy person trying to get closer, but the light turned green and I missed it. Check out the wheels and body kit with dual exhaust.
Next trip is to Denver in a couple weeks, so I probably won't get any good pics there.

That picture was taken through my hotel window, so you can see reflections on the inside of the glass.
