Default Nice rims ,VS wife......

Well
It was bound to happen sooner or later, Day before yesterday I let my wife take the box to work so I could put some tires on her car.
When she got out of work she jumped in and drove home from Green Valley (26 miles)
with a flat tire..............(thank God it wasnt totally flat) .on my Nice 18" SportMax rims tottaly ruined the tire and kinda jacked up the rim!!!!
I was able to fix the rim so you have to look really, really close to see anything , but the tire is wiped out.
She said she thought it was kinda pulling hard , and thought it was the wind!!!!, it's sure a good thing I love her so much or I woulda really blown a gasket over this...

Now she cant seem to figure out why I wont trade cars with her?? She loves driving the box

I solved this problem real easily. Put Sparco's in the car and drop the seat 3 inches. She cant see over the steering wheel to drive it

Its tuff with low profile tires to really tell when you have one thats low. My boss
followed me over to the dealer so I could drop it off and get the oil changed
and as I got out he said Ray you got a low tire. I went around to the right
side rear and sure enough it was low but it didn't look flat. I went by Randodes
house to double check the air -- dealer said they put air in it -- but didn't
15psi -- ya thats more than half flat. Slapped one of the stockers on it and took
it in to have it fixed. All good now.But I said to my wife if the car "feels" funny --
pulling -- shaking -- to pull off the road and just walk around it to see if you
notice anything wrong don't just keep driving. And then call if you think there's
a problem. Thats what were here for right? I'm on my way honey - sit tight be
there shortly. Wings -- please dont take offense to my ramblings,
I'm old.

No offense taken !!,and yes I am Very happy nothing happened to her the box can be replaced and I wouldnt trade her for anything in this world .............
As for the xB I think I'm gonna run the steelies for a while and buy new tires after the Christmas Crunch is over
This time I'm gonna go with alot more sidewall I'm runin Falken 215/35 zr18 any reccomendations would be appreciated.
As for buying her an xB then we would have to give up the MAGNUM and we both love that car !!!!!!!

Hey just a quick question, does anyone know if DUB SPINNERS would rub against the side when I turn? or if they will mess with the spedometer, or the Engine??

Anything is possible, but i've seen spinners on a xb, doesn't look good at all. Neither do 20's. Its a compact, not a SUV. But this is just my opinion. Spinners don't effect anything, if you get 20's you'll need to adjust the speedo because it will read that you are going slightly slower than what you are. Probably by 3-5mph.

And that sucks about your wife and the flat. At least nothing not-fixable happend. Its christams time, she got off lucky.

I asked the wife to pull mine in the garage last night, She wont do it.. I guess maybe the fact that I have owned the car for like 6-7 months and she has never drove it yet type thing. I figured she couldnt do any damage pulling it in the garage, but she wouldnt even do that..

sorry to hear it man.. that's exactly why i won't let my girlfriend drive my box..

well, the whole curbing the rims thing, and the fact that i hate how she drives.. steps on it to get going, waits till the lst second and slams on her brakes.. very scary indeed to be in the car with her driving

Default Tires

Im lookin @ some 225/40 HR18's that will get alot more miles on em before they are toast .they are 60k radials with a guarantee ............... and a little taller sidewall, since I drive my box everyday for work (about 3000 miles a month) I'm hopin these will do the trick and still look as good as my 215/35's
Anybody tried runnin this size ??

Your present size is more odometer friendly, but your asking for a performance tire
to last 60k probably wont happen. Even if you rotated them every 5k you'd be doing
good to get 40k maybe 45k maybe. If I can squeeze 35k I feel good about it. The
size you want to go with shouldn't look bad at all, just remember -- regular rotations,
air checks every month, alignment checked once or twice a year and no rockblocker
driving ( sorry chad)
