A driver sustained life-threatening injuries after being shot on Interstate 17 shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, according to police.
The man, whose name was not being released, was taken to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. A passenger, grazed by a bullet, was treated and released at the scene, said Phoenix Police Sgt. Joel Tranter.
The victim was driving south near the McDowell overpass when the passenger told police he heard gunshots and ducked. The passenger, the only witness at this time, said there had been no confrontation that would point to road rage, Tranter said.
The passenger described the shooters as driving a boxy SUV. Police have no suspects.
Police are looking for other drivers who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. The heavily traveled I-17 was backed up for miles after the incident, which closed the east and west on ramps to Interstate 10 for about 4 hours.
“There were other people out there,” Tranter said. Anyone with information can call (602) 262-6151 or the Silent Witness program at 480-WITNESS.[/u]

On the news they said it was a Scion, then they said boxy SUV (my wife saw it).
It wasn't me, I didn't leave work until 4:30 and didn't go that way because I had to stop off and see Brian.

A guy I work with calls it a sky-on also. I just ignore him after he says it that way.So the last time he said it, I handed him a paper and had him read it to us. Im sure some have seen it.
" I am we todd it. Sofa king we todd it"
Needless to say, the office went crazy from the laughter.
