Default Recommended Tires

Hi there!

I have an 06 tC. I currently have the stock rims and tires on her.

I am looking to get new rims: 18" Motegi Racing SX7. They look like this:
http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheel...fbml_ci3_l.jpg

The specs on them say 18x7.5 + 45mm offset. Their recommended tire size is 225/40-18 (on tirerack.com)

I really like the quality and feel of Bridgestone Potenzas, so I want to stay with the brand, but the stock tires do not come in 18". Can anyone recommend another type of Potenza that they have used that come in 18"? There are so many types of Potenzas to look at I am starting to go crosseyed, and since I don't really know anything about tires, I am starting to get really confused.

I've already posted this in the owner's lounge wheels section, but I wanted to get some opinions here since you guys all live in the desert like I do.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

I have no experience with the Bridgestone Potenzas but I have used Nitto Neo Gens and currently have Toyo Proxes 4's on there now. Both have been a great tire. I also have 18's on my box and they are a 215/35ZR18 tire.

I would recommend either you going with the 225/40-18 as recommended or go with 225/35-18.... The difference between the two is the tire wall size. 35 series tires are going to be a lower profile tire than 40 series tires. It all depend on what you want as far as look and ride. with lower profile tires you tend to feel more of the road versus having a tire wall a little bigger which not feel the road as much. Hope that makes sense what I am saying.

Good luck with your search on these tires

I run Kuhmo Esta Spt and for the money they are a good tire. They are like 100 bucks each. I started with Pirelli's and they didn't last me. Just my .02

Like i was mentioning earlier I love my Toyo T1R's but if you're looking for something a bit cheaper then the Proxies 4 are good too.

I have had *GREAT* experience with Falken Tires. I have used them on my Chevy Tahoe, both xB's and my old Infiniti G20. I have used the Falken Ziex ZE-512's, the ZE-912's, FK451's and FK452's. The FK452's are the more expensive of these models. They are stickier and have lower tread wear rating similar to the Falken Azenis. I like the ZE-512's more than I like the ZE-912's, but they are very similar to one another. I have ST/04Z's on my Tahoe which has 22" wheels on it and they were great in both dry and wet weather. These actually lasted (3) years on my Tahoe before I swapped them out.

Just my $.02!
