i am my own best sponsor so thanks...i got everything i need at the moment...diy is the best way and thats the way i will continue to do things. the whole plan was not to direct source from the company. i shootin' for small frys here. i don't care to have the best or the loudest or most rediculous looking, or all the lights. it's a different outlook with every kinda car you own, and maybe thats why the majority of scions i've seen choose to go this route...for a company/brand based on individuality and personalization why does the majority follow the rest of the heard

 

What does that have to do with wanted help with Sponsors. You asked for help and now you dont like what you hear. Please.

No matter where you are and what market you are in there will always be leaders and there will be followers and then there will be some just taking their time. It is a part of life so deal with it. If the masses want to copy each other then great so be it, happens all the time. Scion just gives you a choice to customize at time of delivery what you do after that is your choice and decision not theirs.

IF some want a different look then more power to you. I am for one that has a very different tC from most and I get crap about it all the time. I dont care and either should you.

 

no ones mad, don't much care... i may not like your opinions but i did hear them....however i truely do believe as far as the different companies goes you do find alot of other stuff other than the thousands doing lightbulb swaps...i may only be 19 but i have gone through quite a bit of different cars and see the different things....and i do believe the scions are based alot upon flash

 

I dont really remember anyone saying do lightbulb swaps. You asked how to get free $hit and then didnt like peoples opinions and then you knock the tC. I dont think you went about it the right way. Asking about sponsors and then knocking them. I cant believe you knock Scion cause they dont give you the parts. That is part of the game. Parts is where the money is at. I hope in all this you learn that sponsor ship is not just about getting free parts. It is about making a business relationship with each other.

 

you have that backwards. i wasnt knockin scion for not giving free parts lol..im glad they dont cause i wouldnt want half the stuff the sell for the cars anyways...why don't you take a look at the difference between scion dealerships in phx, and then look at john elway scion in denver...there is quite a difference and i do believe that the scion dealerships in phx don't embrace, what they say they're about.

 

Maybe I am missing something here. but you are saying No thanks to Scion. So basically I am getting is you want to get there parts for dirt cheap? Right?

no its not about gettin it for nothing lol when you pay 250 to through a deaership to get some lights, then you can go through a custom shop who generally tends to do the job better and for half the price. im sorry i see that as a smart way of doing things! i just just find it dumb that you have to pay that kind of money to keep your warranty, i see it is as robbery...i may not be a master mechanic but i do know how to put on an exhaust, air intake, headers, its not rocket science. nor should it void a warranty for doing so myself.... it goes back to the thing of personalizing a vehicle...toyota created a brand to get back to the younger age groups, that was supposed to be affordable, and made it a big thing for personalization. now the car is cheap as dirt i dont deny that, but when your paying 250 for lights and 600 for 15" rims..toyota/scion is not setting themselves apart from any other company.. those are normal prices everywhere else...im sure your going to tell me that now i want rims for nothing, which is fine. cause yeah you can go find rims that are alot nicer and DIFFERENT for nothing. i will have fun customizin it so thanks

 

This conversation has gone way south.. Scions to me- are about showing your style thru the car you drive. The company has done alot for me as a owner that no other car companies have ever done for me, and i have bought several, several cars in my small lifetime. I appreciate the way Scion is , what they do, what they are going to continue doing, and i plan on making my "Flashy awesome Tc" a reflection of my thoughts, maybe my dreams.
I love my car, and i also enjoy and really like all the people i have met thru scionetics, and scionlife. They are awesome as friends, great pool of knowledge and always helpful to me(an deveryone knows i like ot ask questions about cars and mods and just like to chat).

It is too bad you learned about how stepping on someone's foot actually is destructive to you versus having all these great people, and network ring work with you.

Now as for sponsors- I would love to have one to assist my dreams.. Like anyone else. but you have to work for what you get, otherwise you act like a spoiled child.

I would like to comment on everyone copying each other. I really dont think people really copying, Its more like getting Ideas. I have an xB, I look to Chris, RJ, Randy, and a few others in the group for Ideas. I dont wanna take what they have done, but at the same tiime I would like to do what they did, but my my own twist on it. There is only so much you can do to a car. especially when you arent a millionare like most of us. Costumizing your car is supposed to be fun. I have had my xB for about 10 months. I havent done much to it. But I do love looking into mods and planning for my next one. I do have a sponsor for my vinyls. But the only reason is, is because my wife takes car of his mother at her work. I really appriciate him doing my vinyls for free. And I would love to have other sponsors. But I dont have the resources to do so. I am saving money right now to get my intake, exhaust, and header. Which I enjoy trying to do. I have a goal. So I am working hard to save up my money. Especially after living the life I used to live. I enjoy buying my own parts. Hopefully you get done to your car what you want done. I am not gonna bag on you. But I really hope that you can see what everyone was trying to say before it got ugly. Good luck with everything.
