Due to recent accusations of me using "dead troops" to get free stuff for my xB I have decided to leave the Scion modding community. I would like to thank all of the great companies who sponsored the Fallen Heroes Car. While the project did not last as long as I would have hoped, I know we have raised the awareness of our Fallen Heroes to hundreds of thousands of people and contrary to the beliefe of a few people, that was the goal of the project in the first place

I would also like to thank the Scion Life desert & Salt community for supporting the Fallen Heroes Car and for the great friendships I have made over the past 10 months.

All of the items donated to the xB will be removed and return over the next week. The Fallen Heroes Car wrap will be removed tonight. I will not be logging into this account anymore so if you send a PM it will not be read. The http://www.fallenheroescar.org website is now being redirected to the Scion Like Desert & Salt forum.

I just bought a new BMW for my wife so I will now move on to working on mods for it.

I've already left, and my opinion never mattered anyway...BUT..

Robert, thanks for what you did to YOUR car. People get free **** for going to car shows and hanging around, why is it wrong for you to get free stuff for the hardwork you put into your car? It's not like your car is advertising for someone to make money.

 

I agree! The comment that was made was way out of line! I think, an appology is in order, not that it will happen. Robert did his car for awareness not for personal gain.

 

This is pretty messed up. I know Robert doesnt need free stuff. I know he is genuine and Remember when he won $500 at the toys4tots show and turned around and gave it right back. keep in touch

 

That is true. He gave the $500 he won at the Toys 4 Tots car show back to the Toys 4 Tots. Why would someone like that beg for free stuff?

We all know why you did the car and we ALL support it, And if I know you, and you are the *****, you need to apologise period. Glad I did not get to see the mess on here the other day... sucks that it has come to this... Hope ya stick with it man and keep it going. I always love seeing the fallen heroes car at shows! Don't go down like that because of some lame punk comment.

I remember the other day you talking about trying to drive it more and more, to more places, events or non events just to keep the troops in peoples minds. That is what it is all about man! Keep it that way!

 

Well…my .02 for what its worth as an Arizona Army National Guardsman I think what Robert did to his box (pre drama) was most admirable and as a solider I thank him for it. I never got to meet Robert since I’m new to the scene, so consider this electronic handshake to you.

I applaud anyone who contributed to the cause or sponsored this vehicle. Right now there are over 1200 Arizona Guardsmen on deployment, the majority heading to Afghanistan in coming months the rest in the Middle East, and still more on the Border Mission. One person went out of his way to bring awareness to the community, and to me that’s awesome.

So there is my soap box-and by the way I’d rather buy from a sponsor who supports the FHC than someone who wouldn’t, to a solider something like that means much more than some regular sponsored show car.

 

Good stuff man. We all thank you as well. Sorry you came in during drama like this, place is usually pretty cool but get 30 big dogs in the same cage, there is bound to be a fight here and there. It will pass but I sure hope the FHC is kept around.

 

Robert I know MTX is still behind you, since they don't know about any of this, if you change your mind and keep the product that we sponsored you for. If not I understand you leaving and wish you the best.

Like I mentioned earlier I ask that people please try to let this die down. Yes it's unfortunate that he is leaving but if the person that made the comments doesn't feel like he should apologize you can't make him with nasty comments.

 

I think he has his mind made up. I called and tried to talk him out of it and I do not think there is a chance of that happening.

Those companies would not take money for work on his car. Support those guys. They support our nation and our troops! These are also the companies that kept him in shows so that he was not left out by the 3 mod minimum rule. He truely just wanted to get the car visable for people and make them aware of the need for support of troops and the "Fallen Heroes".

It is too bad he let others on the board steal his dream of the "FHC". Robert if by some strange chance you read this, most of us still believe in your cause.

That really sucks.....Robert was the most proud Scionetics memeber I met. He would go and represent Scionetics were the rest of us were to afraid too. Sucks to see him leave. He was the only one that laughed at my jokes..Plus he was the only guy I knew who owned a beemer..now I know no one!! NO ONE!...

Robert: we never met in person but i felt i know you by your car. and from scionlife.com i wish you the best of luck in everything you do and thank you for what you have done. continue to make life a statement, if not here, somewhere.

And just an FYI, I did not sponsor Roberts Xb, I did the gauges in it for him because he is a cool guy and I feel his cause is well worth it. Not once did he EVER ask for anything free or for any type of sponsorship. He did not fill out any paperwork or give me a sponsors prop which I require to even consider sponsorship. He asked if I could do his gauges and what it would cost and when could I do it. I insisted on doing it free for his cause. He gave me crap over not charging him and ended up purchasing a nice lunch for myself and my family that day which was an awsome suprise and appriciated. So no, he did not do this to get "free stuff" how rediculous. So in the end because I did free work for him, technically that is a sponsorship but I have asked nothing in return, not even a sticker on a window even though he has asked for my logo and I have not gotten it to him yet as it is not somthing I am trying to make money off of. This work I did is in no way like the 4-5 requests I get a week from people begging for free swaps. It was done because he is doing a good thing.

This thread is Robert saying good bye and how he will miss some of us. All I expect posted in this thread is goodbyes and how he will be missed by whom ever. Anything else will be deleted regarding opinions or whatever. This thread needs to remain directly on topic or it will be locked and I don't want that because I want Robert to be able to know how many people will be missing him.

 

I am really sad to hear that you are leaving the group, I enjoyed talking with you at numerous meets & I was very impressed on how you embraced the FHC. I hope that you would reconsider, but if you do not then the best of luck to you and your new endevours.
