What the Box can do for you! (Camping w/pics)
This was my first true endeavor with the Box. Sure I drive it to
work everyday, yeah I have done a few minor mods, but I haven't taken it camping.
The wife and I, including our dog Samara, went up north to a
campground just outside of Payson, AZ called Houston Mesa Campgrounds.
It was our first time there and it was a pretty nice campground.
The Box did surprisingly well, handled the 6% grades pretty well. I
had to downshift into 3rd once, but usually stayed in 4 going up
the hills and going about 50mph. I might have been able to push it
a bit more, but I am not about tearing up my engine to arrive
someplace 5 minutes sooner. I was very pleased with the
performance.
We packed the Box full of stuff too, we purchased a Yakima Roof
Rack for the Box, so we made use of that.
Take a look at our pics. We came in only one car, so everything you see came in the box. Pretty cool if you ask me.
These were taken with my camera phone, sorry for the poor quality.
The Box loaded with our stuff. My dog doesn't act normal when the camera is out..
Our tent, nice size too, I believe it is a 5-6 person....
Propane Lantern and stand....
Our 10x10 canopy....
Close up of our "kitchen"....
Table:
Cooking on table:
Dish washing stand:
We brought some firewood as well, glad because there wasn't any
scraps laying around. Needed all the wood we had...
All in all it was a blast, but the trip made my car extremely dirty.
I think I have a problem because I had to wash it and
vacuum it out as soon as it was unloaded, I can't stand it being dirty!
I love the Box!
