Replaced motor after only 80,000 miles highway and now having troubles with auto transmission. There was no problem with trans before motor was replace (done privately by family). Once motor was replaced the car first would not go into overdrive. Replaced senors and the car ran great around town. My commute is 40 miles for work mostly traveled on highway. Once car was repaired with sensors-drove car approx. 25 miles and stopped at red light. When I took off the car just stopped shifting, only would go up to 2nd or 3rd gear. Now again as long as the car is not driven a distance like 20 miles or 15 minutes trans is fine. Toyota recommends bringing it to them, with the probability of a blown transmission and for approx. $2500 they can put a rebuilt in it. Any suggestions?
