Default Alarm/security - Recommendations?

So my birthday is coming up :D and people want to buy me things! I don't have anything in particular I want, but both my dad and girlfriend want to get me a keyless entry/alarm for my car. I looked online and saw that Scion Security is insanely overpriced through the dealer.

My sister works at Circuit City and can get me a discount on the parts, though probably not on the install. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which brands are good and which to avoid? Does anyone have an alarm on their car? I've always been aprehensive towards getting an alarm cause it seems to me like an invitation to try breaking into my car. Also, what good is an alarm after someone breaks your window(s)?

FYI, I still have the stock radio and my windows aren't tinted, so I don't really have much to protect... And if you can think of someplace better than CC to have it installed at (or if it's easy enough that I could install myself) that'd be great too.

Default Alarm and Remote start

I have the Python 2-Way Security System with Remote Start (PYTHON871XP)
Here is what the remote looks like..

It was about $450 after taxes and a part for the remote start that the xb needs..

Ive had it for about a 2 months and love it.
The remote start is great in the cold.

Hate to tell you, but the XB doesn't need any additional parts to make the remote start work!

Thanks for all the replies!!! Matt, that's a sweet system you've got hooked up but a bit pricey for what I need. Thanks for the input thought.

The 791vx looks sweet, but it depends on what price I can get it for as a search online yields a price range between $200-$500!!!

Looking at Circuit City's site, the DEI Hornet 740T looks decent and is reasonably priced, as is the CodeAlarm CSI-300. If anyone has had experience with either of these let me know. Remember, I'm really just going to be using it for the keyless aspect (no remote start as my car is stick) and as a deterrent to theives to an extent...
