Default Help installing springs in Muncie

I'm a ball state student and I love modding my xB. Recently I bought some nice lowering springs, about a 2 inch drop. I can't install them myself and everywhere I have been looking is asking $400-$500, and I can't pay that much. Anyone know a guy or a place that can do cheaper? Or anyone in the area? Thanks.

PM me for info.

My wife knows how to drop an xB. It's easy. Do you have a local Auto Zone, basic tools and basic mechanical skills?

Yup. You can do the rears in about 5 mInutes. The fronts aren't terrible.

this is what I used https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=128949

I bought a long reach 14mm wrench for the front shock nuts on top to save some time on taking out the wiper panels, if you plan on getting a strut tower bar, wait and install it when you do the springs, for that you will have to take off the wiper panels.

You can "rent" a spring compressor from Autozone for about $45, return it and you get your $45 back

If I was closer, I'd help you out

Strut bars are for decoration. You'll notice how unnecessary they are when you try to get to the rear strut bolt and notice your shock towers are against the firewall... Get a 13/16 , 1/2" drive socket. It will fit the lug nuts and the main nut. Oh wait-double check that on a box. That's for a tC. Lugs are 13/16 but not sure about strut nut. Buy at least Craftsman. Dont cut corners with tools that you will stress like this.
Try to loosen the main strut bolt BEFORE you remove the strut.
