rear hatch

I just got a 05 xb the guy i got it from said the rear hatch just quit working on day. the whiper dosent work, or the handle for it. any idea why the hole door lost power to it and nothing with work

Maybe the wires are broken. I had to fix the speaker wires in a new dodge magnum door before.
