Default West Michigan Spring Poker Run

Hey boys and girls!
We would like to organize a Poker Run sometime in the spring here in the West Michigan/Grand Rapids area.
Right now, I would like to guage interest and throw this idea at you all.
I think most people nowdays have a digital camera. I was thinking of somehow integrating a photo hunt into the run, with the idea of earning extra poker cards if you snap the correct picture...say a good "Spot The Rice", a funny sign, or landmark, etc. I just want things to be fair and make sure everybody that wants to participate in the run has a camera available. What do you think?

I think it would be better if you were to provide a description of what a poker run is...

Ahhh...forgive me...here is a copy of DaDerf's description from the last run I attended:

The Poker Run will start at 1:35pm and will include Hundreds of Twisties in 60 miles and last about Three Hours, give or take 30 minutes.

Drivers (and Your +1, if you bring one) will leave my House with a Time Sheet and instructions to your First Check Point. One Car will leave my house every 2 minutes till everyone is on the road.

We will have Seven Check Points along the Route for you to Perform a Easy Stunt (don't forget your Video Camera ) or Answer a Easy Question to receive a Playing Card. Also the Driver Closest to the Average time between Check Points will receive a Extra Playing Card at the end of the Run, for each Check Point they Win (2 extra card max.).

This is Not a Speed Event, Please Follow all Traffic Laws and Drive Smart.

Best (1st place) and Worst ( 2nd place) FIVE Card Poker Hands Win. Two of your Extra cards will be used to break any ties if needed.

You know i'm down.
I'm sure lots of the kzoo guys will be there too.

I think the problem here is still the lack of understanding of what a poker run is. If so just ask.

I am thinking it will go something like this:

We all meet at a starting point...my house, Toyota/Scion of GR, or whatever.
Socialize, register, and hand out directions of turns, distances, and stops. We will probably go through Downtown Grand Rapids, and East Town. We will also try to find some good fun twisty country roads to play on, too.
You will be given your first playing card and cars will leave about 1 minute apart.
There will be stops along the route...stores, car dealers, etc...where you can get your next playing card by answering a simple question. You will get seven cards, and build your best 5 card poker hand from the 7 cards. You may qualify to get up to 2 extra cards if you are closest to the average times between stops. Keep in mind that it is not a race.
The highest hand will win the grand prize (to be determined) and 2nd place gets something, too.
The run will end up at my house or maybe a park for a BBQ and party.
How was that?

We haven't set a date yet, but we will figure it out soon.
5C10N DR1V3R is getting married in May, so I think it may be early June.
He will be busy shopping for dresses before then.
Not sure what his bride is going to wear....
Sorry, dude...had to do it...

Hmmm...we'll be visiting in mid May, but if May is out, so are we...LOL
It'd be cool to meet people from other car clubs while on our trip, ya' know?

Can anyone tell me why the guy at the flower shop needed to measure my inseam?

June it is! We will come up with a finalized date soon. Once the weather breaks we will work on getting a route planned and get some sponsorship and volunteers.
